One can take 2-4 acidophilus capsules four times a day preferably with lukewarm milk. But then, make it sure that tablets contain living organisms. The milk is an activating culture medium for those bacilli. This reduces the pain and speeds up healing. Eating plain yogurt (in the form of acidophilus) with live cultures will enhance friendly bacteria to the mouth and will also help in healing by batteling with the bad bacteria. Yogurt seems to stimulate the immune system.

One of the best home remedy for canker sore is aloe juice as a mouth freshener and then rinse several times a day.

You can also prepare another method by baking soda mixing with ½ cup of lukewarm water and use as a mouthwash solution many times a day, especially after meals and before retiring to the bed. The pain should be lessening in 24 hours and the sore must disappear within three days. To make the tea, add 2 sprigs of coarsely chopped parsley, 3 whole spice cloves, one tsp of powdered myrrh, and ¼ tsp powdered goldenseal to one pint of boiling water. Steep it well and stir in between while cooling. Strain and use as a mouthwash. This tea helps with bad breath and sore throats. This hurts, but it works! Burn a brown paper bag (about 3"X3"-you dont need a lot) in a glass bowl. When he flames die out you will notice a yellow residue. Wipe the residue with your finger or a Q-tip and apply diectly on the canker sore. It will sting like crazy and your mouth will create lots of saliva, so I suggest doing this over a sink. Even though it hurts, the pain is worth it as you will notice your canker will go away a lot faster than other remidies. And its cheap!

Well as a practicing doctor I have got a list of prescriptions to get you out of your misery. But I am keeping them for a better time...:-P...here I am going to mention a home remedy that can cure even the worse of the c.sores in half the time these medicines would do.
First of all take 2 tea-spoons of Pure Glycerin and pour 'em in your mouth. Keep it there for around 10 minutes. Be sure to gargle at intervals especially at areas of infection. Do it twice a day.
Your sores would disappear in two days...100% Working!!! :-[]

P.S: Most of the tips shared here are bizarre....never ever try to utilize these tips.:-o
P.S.S: Allow the saliva to mix with the glycerin. Dont take it down or spit it out!!!
