Hair is formed in minute pockets in the skin known as follicles. An up growth at the base of the follicle, called papilla produces hair. Hair is made up of keratin, a type of protein. They tend to be the body’s barometer that indicates good health or the poor health. There are three types of hair that grow on the human scalp and they are:
Dry hair
Dry hair looks dull and is often difficult to control after shampooing. They have dry and split ends. When the oil glands become inactive they make the hair dry. Dry hair needs lot of care and nourishment. They tend to be thin, rough and brittle.
Home Remedies For Dry Hair
- To a cup of coconut milk add two tablespoons of gram flour. Apply on the scalp and massage gently. Rinse the hair after five minutes. Use this method once a week. This is very good and effective home remedy for dry hair.
- Make a conditioner by mixing one tablespoon of castor oil, one tablespoon of glycerin, a teaspoon of cider vinegar, a teaspoon of protein to a tablespoon of mild herbal shampoo. Apply it on scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse the hair.
- Massage the scalp with warm almond or olive oil.
-
Add a teaspoon of lavender oil to the coconut oil and heat it for few seconds. Massage the scalp at night and shampoo the hair next morning. Follow this procedure twice a week for soft and shiny hair. This is very useful home remedy for dry hair.
-
A diet rich in zinc should be followed, as the main cause of dry hair is the deficiency of mineral zinc.
Oily Hair
The excess secretion of oil by the oil glands of the scalp makes the hair oily. They look good after shampooing but after 1-2 days they become sticky. It is more susceptible to dirt and dust. It needs washing after every 2-3 days.
Home Remedies for Oily Hair
- The best way to deal with oily hair is frequent washing with mild shampoo.
- Applying astringent to the scalp will absorb the excess oil from the hair. This is good home remedy for oily hair.
- Mix one teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel and one tablespoon of lemon juice with one-fourth of shampoo and use the mixture to rinse the hair regularly.
- Boil two tablespoons of mint in one and a half glass of water for 20 minutes. Strain the mixture and mix it with the regular used shampoo. Using this mixture on alternative days will absorb the excess oil from the scalp. This is one of the effective home remedies for oily hair.
- Apply a puree of carrots for 15 minutes and rinse the hair.
Normal hair
They can be managed easily and don’t need much care. A well-balanced and healthy diet is enough for normal hair.
Home Remedies for Normal Hair
- Application of cucumber puree for 15 minutes before washing will provide shine and heaviness to the hair. This is very good home remedy for normal hair.
- Soak one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds overnight, next morning grind the seeds and apply on the hair, rinse the hair with water after one hour and shampoo next day. It will make the hair glow and also one of the effective home remedies for normal hair.
- Periodically washing the hair with white vinegar gives a health look to the hair.
- Drinking one cup of lettuce and spinach juice in combination is highly beneficial.

As for dry/lackluster hair remedies, try henna powder with olive/mustard seed oil, egg white and some yoghurt. Mix it together till its neither runny nor too stiff, apply it to hair, let it dry and wash out.

Hi I am 19 years old and I have the hair of a 50 year old. I used to have wonderfully thick shiny hair but in the past 8 months or so they have completely fallen out and I have less than half of what I used to have. Now my hair is completely dried out and alot of them at the top of my head are becoming coarse and frizzy (for example when i run my fingers down the length of a hair it feels bumpy and coarse). They are also breaking off and sticking up everywhere and I have no idea what to do !!!!!!!!!
Please Please could someone help me out I have tried everything and its getting harder to deal with mostly because of my age!!!

but unfortunately i can't because you are not aware of how to speak the english language properly.
might want to work on that.
MK, im not sure exactly what is going on with you're hair, but i really reccomend that you go scheduel a consultation with a haircare specialist, and also book a deep conditioning treatment. Are you pregnant? sometimes it can do funny things like that to your hair. im sorry i couldn't help more.

Heena is a very good natural conditioner for dry and damaged hair. Make paste of 1-2 cups Heena powder,2tea spoons gooseberry powder in water. Kept the paste for 3-4 hours or overnight for best results. Appy this paste on your hair. Rinse well after 2 hours with a shampoo followed by conditioner. Use it once or twice in a month.
It will give u amazing results just after 1 month.
Try it and see the results. This remedy is equally beneficial for the dry as well as for the oily hair.
Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. Make sure to rinse out the conditioner thoroughly.
Add few leaves Hibiscus (China rose) to a glass of water. Heat it. The juice of a lime should be squeezed in the sieved mixture and it should be applied to the hair before shampooing
Please tell me which shampoo will suit for oily to normal hair as my scalp is very oily and lower part is noraml. I tried all kinds of shampoo but still its very oily after a day of shampooing my hair please help me out
If your hair is oily, first try using a clarifying shampoo, and if that doesn't work, a lot of shampoos tend to have WAX in them and the more you use them, the heavier your hair will get, as well as oily. Try washing your hair one a week in dawn dish soap, which will get the oil out of your hair and if you use a waxy shampoo, like pantene pro-v or many others, it will help get rid of the wax build up in your hair.
hair loss can result from lack of sleep or stress, so try taking vitamins or getting an extra hour or two of sleep, if possible. Hair loss can also be caused by aging or run in your genes, where you notice it falling out a lot in certain places, and I've never heard of a remedy to help with that, so I would suggest to sleep well, as well as maintain a good diet, and exercising, which will keep your body in fit condition, where if you were losing your hair to a certain thing, it most likely would have stopped by then, unless it's genetic or an auto-immune disorder. If you absolutely can't find anything to help out, try going to the doctor and asking about hair replacement treatments like plugs or growth treatments like rogaine. Rogaine does work very well in most cases, but if you ever stop using it after you've started, your hair will most likely start to fall out again like before.
I hope you can find something that helps with any of these problems!
My brother has got a patch on his head where the hair is not growing due to which he is very stressed......please dear freind if there is any home remedy or anything that could help i would be very glad

I used to message an oil to my hair twice a week on the previous night of the day of washing my hair. When I wash my hair, it becomes very silky. But from the next day its starts becoming rough, dull, thin and splity. When I run my fingers in to my scalp, I always find dust in my nails. So which is the type of my hair?
I am suffering from hair fall and hair loss. I have lost many of my hairs.
So what should I do to make my hair thik, prevent hair fall and regrowth of my hair?
Please help me
I have very thin hairs, But whenever I apply oil and after bath my hair start falling. I am feeling very shy to go outside. I want thick hairs. Do you have any solution for thick hairs. Please help me.
Suggest me some good shampoo for oily hair I have to them after two days.
1.Drink Gren tea every morning it contains anti-oxidents that help stimulate the hair foliculs.
2. DO NOT BRUSH HAIR WHEN WET! If you must use a wide comb.
3. Eat things with lots of natural vitamins, avacados are the best. nuts, fish, things with protien. The best way to get good hair is from the inside out.
4. Trim hair about 1 every 1-2 months.
5. The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off. Sit in the sun and comb through your hair and cut the split ends off.
6.I dont use condition, it made my hair weak and so it would not grow. instead I use a spray in conditioner after I'm out od the showe.
7. Get a really good shampoo like Panthine Beautiful leangths.
I have noticed a differnece in my hair, its thicker and I have less split ends. I also use a smothing serum that works pretty well. Oh one more thing, dont wash your hair everyday. Go a weekend with our washing it to let the natural oil do there work. Then use a natural boar brush to brush them out to your ends.
Remember the hair at the end is old, could be up to 10 years old! So take care of it and dont fry it with blowdrying, straightening, curling.
Hope this helps! Let me know if it does!
Dont wash your whole head with shampoo, only your scalp needs it, thats why your hair feels dry after shampooing.
And wash your hair in luke warm-cold water.
Hot water is bad for hair and makes it frizz and break.
My Hair is really really dry and braking off all the time its only short anyway but will have to have it even shorter f i dont fix it :( i kno i shouldn't straighten it but i hate it down its soo frizzy cann anyone help please :) xx
My hair is starting to thin from me wearing weaves so much that have been applied with hair glue. How can I make my hair stop thinning out so much? I'm also trying to grow my hair back but it just gets to one length and stops growing.. If anyone has a cure for either one of my problems, I would love to hear it.
Thanks
an egg yolk,
almond oil,
sesame oil,
olive oil,
black sesame oil,
walnut oil
and the most important is garlic oil.
all of these things is mixed (the oils must be warm), then apply your hair skin and wait a couple hours. if you apply this cure once a week, you see the different on your hair..
any solution for my hair plz tell me
the problem came after colouring hair from barbour i think strong chemicals destroyed my hair, not growing well, breaking, falling more over scalp skin is visible. before my hair was so nice everyone was praising them. i m very nervous and depressed. help me plz
1. regular oiling NOT over doing it i think that makes the hair too soft and more prone to breaking when we brush it hard.
2. SHAMPOOS have actually destroyed my hair. i used to shampoo it everyday a friend once told me to either not shampoo my hair at all just rinse it with water and use shampoo once a week or use simple soap bars. it sounds insane but the truth is in pakistan the women who i have seen with the thickest hair are those from villages and they ALL use soaps. Yes it makes your hair extremely dry but then again use oil. Using soap really made my hair grow faster and it felt stronger too. I liked one shampoo a lot Marc Anthony Thick hair but that too worked for the first 2 months maybe and after that my hair went back to normal.
3. All these hair sprays and gels we use to make our hair look better only helps ruining it. I think if you really want your hair back you should only stick to natural products and NOTHING loaded with chemicals for e.g shampoo and conditioners.yes i know a lot of use cant survive without conditioners but then use oils mayonnaise hennda powder mixed with egg and all these other mixtures you ll find you wont need conditioners trust me they work better.
4. Wash your hair once every 3 days. if it gets REALLY limp and dry by the second day then get used to just rinsing it. i have been through this. i HAD TO shampoo my hair everyday so now i just try rinsing it everyday and shampooing it every 3 4 days that too with my own shampoo. feels dirty as first but you will HAVE to get used to it otherwise the problem will only get worse.
5. GROWING HAIR LONG IS EASY. I have not been able to grow more hair on my scalp yet nor have i been able to really improve the thickness but the one thing that i have yet to read on any site and is proven by many is the simple way of growing your hair long. try oiling your hair properly and tying a tight a very tight braid not to the point it breaks your hair obv but a tight one. leave it like that over night. try this for a week and you ll see results. my hair literally gros long overnight in pakistan because i do this pretty often but Whenever im abroad it takes its own sweet time becasue i dont really take care of my hair there.
I hope these things help and if anyone can tell me a way of growing new hair on my scalp please do because my hair isnt all that bad but i really want my thickness back desperatly and nothing seems to have worked for me so far.
the technique is when your hair is oiled take shampoo in your hand mix it with water rub it all over your oiled hair and head then keep adding water to it n rubbing it through the shampoo will keep more foamy as you ll add water to it n soon your hair will be covered with shampoo or soap the way it is when you normally use it .. after that wash your hair and you ll find your hair to be completely oil free. wetting it before shampooing it only makes the oil stick so hard it doesnt come off before a second or third round !

Please Friend Suggest Me Good Tips For My Hair...
My Husband Doesn't Like My Hair....
Friends
Eating green leaf vegetables regularly you will have healthy and beautiful hair forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this will help friends....
Bye!!!!
Honey, first, tell your husband to take a hike! If he truly loves you, he will try to help you instead of criticizing. He certainly is not a gentleman.
You should go to a dermatologist. Hope you have insurance. I have had your problem, even with very thin, fine type hair. There is a good chance you could have some hormonal problems, or, simply have psoriasis instead of simply dandruff. I did and use a tar base shampoo. I find it works better than other type shampoos, ie., Head and Shoulders, etc. Good luck and wish I could have talked to you before you married your Mister.
God bless. M.
I am only 20 years old but my hair is dropping so much. It's at an alarming rate right now. My confidence level has dropped tremendously.Even my friends tease me and tell me to go and get a hair transplant. I don't know how to comb it and avoid it from looking so thin and limpy. I am balding at the top of my head. I avoid going to salons now because the hair stylists always gets a shock when they see my hair. I have tried using egg white and rosemary herbs, cinnamon and honey with olive oil, rubbing onions on the bald patches, have tried changing shampoos, but nothing seems to work. I haven't highlighted or dyed my hair in more than a year already.I am in desperate need of help. Please please help me!!
here are a few tips for great hair....
1) for oily hair, use the egg white ( the yolk makes the hair stink if used) and a little lemon juice.. mix well and apply to your hair..leave it on for half an hour.. its an excellent conditioner for oily hair.. and using the egg white only ensures there's no egg smell...
2) boil tea and coffee leaves for aboutr 15 min.. allow it to cool and rinse your hair with it.. it helps making hair shine.
3) grind fenugreek seeds using a little water and apply it hair.. this helps get rid of dandruff and makes hair feel heavier
I do wear wigs so I can keep my hair moist but it's beautiful when I do wear it out.
I love using Smooth 'N Shine after a good wash and conditioner using Mane n Tail, then I wrap it up to keep in the moisture. Using heavy products on your hair only weighs the hair down and clogs your hair folicles.
I promise keeping youre hair moist along with your favorite products will give you strong beautiful hair. Oh, and for us with relaxers, make sure you relax the hair on time, so that you wont have to comb through 2 different textures because that causes most of our breakage along with using all the strength we have in our bodies to comb our hair with these small tooth combs. If you try this, please reply to let me know how it worked for you.
