Baby oil, mixed with cocoa butter lotion. It helps with itchy dry skin, which is more prone to stretch marks than well oiled skin.
#13 - ddluv - 06/12/2008 - 16:21
I got stretch marks from the same thing as many of you, growing up too fast.
someone suggested to simply use heavy moisture lotions like Nivea, St Ives, or generic cocoa butter to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day (nothing cheap or watered down like Suave). Using the lotion on a daily basis can help keep your skin hydrated (also the obvious--eating healthy and drinking lots of water) helps you skin adjust to changes like stretching and growing.

i'm studying to become a massage therapist, massage can help, and with cellulite. massage in the direction of your heart (going away isn't so good for your blood flow). keeping the area moisturized is good--like oils (olive, jojoba, almond, grapeseed, etc.) i personally don't like mineral/baby oil because there's a bunch of crap in them (fragrances can help dry out the skin) or vaseline--patroleum jelly supposedly does moisturize the skin, but makes it so it is "reliant" on it, getting dry when you don't use it. i just prefer more natural, organic stuff, makes me feel a little happier. well, massage in general is good for you...helps to get rid of toxins and all that jazz...one might want to try drybrushing. look it up if you don't know what it is.
i'm currently using a vitamin K creme, and it works pretty well...i've used it before, but haven't in a loooong time. i bought it at Marshalls, i think.
don't worry, previous 15 year old poster--stretch marks aren't the end of the world, men will still adore you with them. i've had plenty of men think i'm awesome, and i've had stretch marks (mostly on my love handles/sides) since i was 10-11 years old.
i'm guessing the lemon because of its acidity--gets rid of the excess dry, flaky skin, which can help fade the stretch marks.
so, through experience--slough off the dead skin, and massage a moisturizer in.

exfoliator: mix sea salt (smaller stuff) with any kind of natural oil you want/not allergic to (sunflower, olive, vitamin e, etc.) so you can make a oily paste to massage on in the shower. it's very good for your skin!

#16 - mihelle - 06/28/2008 - 21:52
just because you ahve stretch marks doesnt mean your a fat lazy crazy person who can't stop shoveling food into their mouths and anyone who said anything liek that on here are sorrowfully mistaken ... i have stretch marks from a growth purt and i am NOT fat and I DONT have an eating disorder. and if your so prejudice towards this why are you onthis site anyways?
#17 - ANGRY - 07/07/2008 - 14:25
anti-wrinkle cream might work you can get a cheap one because its purpose is to plump the skin giving it more elasticity to fix itself which is what stretch marks need, my cousion used bio oil and hers are hardly noticeable also, lemon juice fades the skin which makes the stretch marks blend in with your own skin tone. also, tanning.
#18 - holly - 07/09/2008 - 18:22

Take two capsules Oregano Oil per meal and apply royal jelly to the affected area. Try to keep it drenched all the time. The Oregano Oil will kill the bacteria internally and the Royal Jelly wil kill bacteria externally and help it heal without leaving scabs or scars.
#23 - Impetigo - 07/19/2008 - 20:34

Im 16 and I have strechmarks on my upper thighs lower stomach and sides, some of them are light and some are dark Im kinda chubby and I need solutions like NOW!!
#29 - Jazzmin - 08/23/2008 - 02:41
O wow I've been massaging and putting olive oil all over my body for 2 days now and I already see results, my strech marks look more light, its crazy just in 2 days , but it might not work for everyone considering everyone has different skin, but try 'warm' olive oil (maybe put some in your microwave) and poor it all over your body, massage it into your body for about 20 min everyday, if you dont see results it just might be the kind off skin you have , like coco butter doesnt work for me at all but olive oil does
#30 - Jazzmin - 08/23/2008 - 19:14
Alot of you guys are young woman and are wondering why you have stretch marks. It's usually because you're growing too fast. It doesn't mean you are fat, but you may be getting taller?

Well if it's not that, It can also be from taking really hot showers. When I was younger I lovedd to take steaming showers, and when i was done, i would get really itchy and scratch my body alot without moisturizing my skin....

It led to many many many stretch marks that I really hate. I still have not found anything that had helped much, but Like someone said in a previous post, I've seen somewhat of a fading while using thicker creams.

Hope this helps some! :-D
#31 - Steph - 09/02/2008 - 02:53
folks i had really bad strechmarks from losing weight after my baby way to fast ... so know its not always from eating to much .. anyways i have been using this thing called a derma roller also known as a skin roller along with a cream from walmart thats supose to contain elastin and collegin very cheep 5 $ i think anyways use this fun combo about 1 every other day and it will help alot ... best part is it really helps on the older strechmark... and you can almost fully remove them .. also get a lofa from the store about a $ scrub some of the dead skin away using seasalt or baking soda .. i promice some result... everyones body varrys on how they handel thing and treatments but just give it a shot it worked for me .. there not gone but its helping a lot and the derma rollers effects continue to work for 12 monthes after your last session..

im 21 years old and ive got stretch marks on my stomach my sides and on my breasts this is due from having my daughter and twin boys well ive been using vitamin E alot puttin it on after showering, before bed and right when i wake up ive also been using apricot scrub which has worked beautifully. while ur in the shower use the apricot scrub as much as you need depending on how much area you are going to cover well scrub in a circular motion for about 10 minutes to each area it will help to soften the look of ur stretch marks and be sure to use the vitamin E right after you can also get vitamin E gel tabs break them open and apply directly to the area this has also worked for me my stretch marks have reduced dramaticly in 2 monthes try it and let me kno how it works for you
#38 - kristina - 10/19/2008 - 13:09
For all the younger girls out there upset over stretch marks, don't worry! Studies show that 90% of women have stretch marks and most guys will think you are beautiful regardless. I use Revitol Stretch Mark lotion and I find it works quite well. I also exfoliate and massage the area. They're fading pretty fast.
#39 - Lucy - 10/19/2008 - 13:32
I have 3 children, am only 22 and the all differ by just one year... (don't ask :) ) Anyway, heard Vicks works, but if you ask me I suggest exfoliation and then vit E oil... Seems to be working for me, though haven't been using it long... I have very sensitive skin and get rashes from everything except thisB-)
#40 - Princess - 10/23/2008 - 04:08
i had showed my stetchmarks to a proff skin dr nd he just told me tht once u get it,then it will not disappear completely only can fade by rubbing n massaging with lotion or oils but wont disappear completely :( once u get it u have it all life so its better to apply lotion regularly to avoid getting marks on other area, and cocoa butter lotion nd vitamin e lotion are good.

has anyone tried bio oil?? Ive been applying bio oil to my stretch marks.. im 22 and have them from having my baby at 16.. Since I gained so much weight theyre also on other parts of my body.. but, i bought bio oil which has gotton really great reviews.. I then take lemon juice with water which i put into a spray bottle and spray the stretch marks.. I use vita E, lemon juice, and bio oil and seen a small improvement.. I was also looking into Triasalin or however its spelled but its 150 for a bottle. However, you can return it if it doesnt work so i do plan on purchasing it :]
#45 - brandi - 12/17/2008 - 00:23
I am 26 yrs old, I had my first boy when I was 19. I have been battling stretchmarks since then. I am 5'2" tall and with my first pregnancy I weighed in at 201lbs! I started at 100lbs- I just blew up, between my poor eating habbits and becoming diabetic, the weight kept piling on. I have had another son since then and am back to healthy weight, 130lbs and losing:) it was mention aboved that vicks works-yes it does! my routine is like this- exfoliate in the shower with a body brush, immediently follow the shower with a rub down of Gold Bond triple action medicated lotion (smells bad but works) at night I use vicks. My stretch marks have reduced dramatically. I also used trilastin-not natural and way expensive but I loved the results. excersie is good for pregnancy related stretch marks, due to the loss of muscle around the tummy area, the tighter your abs are, the more taught your skin is the less noticable the scars. Their are so many young girls on here that are worried to death over these unsightly scars-please don't be, beauty is something you radiate rom within, and guys never see are flaws like we do! as women, young or old, we are hardest on ourselves. Confidence is the most beautiful thing in a mans eyes, I should know- I am married, however my confidence failed after my son, and I no longer was hit on by anybody, this many years later, feeling great about myself, and confidence pouring from within, I am pursued more often than not-just because of the differance in my attitude. My husband though he has loved me for the past eight years, enjoys a more confident me as well-so please ladies try the suggestions on this site to aid you in removing your scars but do not get down on yourself, especially you guys in your teens- youre still growing and your skin will most likely repair itself- mine did. good luck to all- and try the vicks!

I am 25 and pregnant looking for a natural way to prevent and get rid of the stretch marks that have already started. I cannot believe that some of you are so crude to think that you are fat because you have stretch marks and if that is what you think than I will gladly carry my stretch marks because having a baby is one of the most beautiful joys and experiences that anyone can have in their life.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE SUGGESTIONS I WILL TRY THEM AND WILL LET THOSE THAT ARE INTERESTED HOW IT GOES.

#56 - jgabby - 02/03/2009 - 22:18
As long as it is a new stretch mark (still pink or dark and not white yet) you can use Mederma on it. It is used to treat scars and they sell it just about everywhere. It is kind of pricey, but it works. Also, I have hears that cocoa butter helps some people, but it just depends on the person I guess. Mederma DOES work, though. My best friend used it when she was pregnant and has like 1 or 2 VERY small ones left after gaining 50 lbs during her pregnancy. All the others went away. Good luck!
#57 - therealslimkatie - 02/05/2009 - 01:28
Yeah well it seem a lot of teenagers get stretch marks around 12-16, excluding pregnant people of course. Im a 15 year old with stretch marks, getting stressed out but after reading this I dont feel so bad, I grew like 2 foot in a year, that might have contributed....lol.... anyway good luck with all your treatments folks and thx for the advice

I've read about several of the ingredients in some of the post and I can say from my experience they really work. I use lemons that I cut up and put in a food processor along with aloe vera gel and vicks vapor rub. I microwave if for about 5 secs (gets REALLY hot if you do it longer)...Its extremely messy, but I let it sit on my stretch marks for about 10 minutes. I've only been doing it for about 3 weeks and have noticed a drastic improvement!! After I rinse it off, I use a cocoa butter stick and rub it into my stretch marks. It amazes me how I've spent $100s on creams that didn't work and now I spend around $10 and have better results.

I'm 15 years old and have bad stretch marks on the back of my thighs. I can't stand them and I don't want to wear short because of them. I have heard good things about olive oil and lemon juice, but is there anything besides that? I'm allergic to citric acid and olive oil bugs my skin. I don't know what to do.

I am 23 yrs. old. 103 Lbs. and always been very slim and never had stretch marks, until i got pregnant. And now I have had them on my belly for 2 1/2 yrs. I hate them, but my husband does not care! He still finds me sexy. Anyhow-Doing pushups for atleast 20-30 minutes 5 days a week (to tighten and firm up the muscles), I heard putting baby power on the stretch marks can help but ive never tried it. Any kind of lotions or oils with Vitamins in them should help. Stretch marks CAN fade away alittle (depending on how bad you have them)... but there is no CURE, except for laser surgery or plastic surgery. Very expensive.

Over here, we use shear butter which may not work for everyone, or cocoa butter. but the most relable is snake fat. python fat to be presice. as gross and disgusting as it sounds,it is the best remedy and will work for every one. it helped me alot. but it stinks really really bad.
#70 - girl - 04/28/2009 - 15:59
stretch marks are genetic. sorry ladies. my mother has them, i have them. when i was pregnant, i put coco butter on religiously. and i still have them. as for the young girls, the marks fade in a couple years. if a man cant accept you because of them, then he aint a real man. they dont care. my boyfriend actually likes them. says i look like a tiger. grrr... anyway, try to keep your body lotioned and a vitamin e supplement should help as well. for a temp fix, use makeup. :-D
#71 - BECCA - 04/30/2009 - 09:17

hello, im a 29 year old african american women that has had stretch marks for as long as i can remember. I got them from yoyo-ing weight loss and gain. when i was younger (before the age of 19) they really bothered me. but now that im older not so much so.
Like many of the people on here i've tried it all!!! The best remedy first and foremost not worring about then! you know mind over matter. then go to any store that sale vitmins and purchase a bottle of Flaxseed oil (@ Walmart $5 for a 100 caps)

Flaxseed oil is one of natures miracles. it will not only help with skin conditions(acne, redness, scars etc) it will also aid in heart health, nails and hair growth and strength . It also aided me in losing 60lbs last year without even execising!!

To help with scretch marks i take about 20 caps(opened to get the oil out) then add to 1/2 cup olive oil. I then added this mixture to all my favorite lotions and body creams and message it into your skin. You may need to make more but keep the measurements the same.

Also this mixture can be added to your hair conditioners or warm it for a hot oil treatment, body scrubs (1/2 cup brown sugar +1/2 cup honey), rub it into your cuticles, rub on lips in winter, the possibilities are endless!!!

I hope this is helpful! Good Luck!

Two- to three times a day, rub a mixture of olive oil and lemon on the parts of your body with stretch marks then apply cocoa butter right after. This will kill the dead skin, rejuvenate your skin, and make it smooth. If your young and still growing and have red stretch marks dont worry too much because those strech marks will eventually, most likely fade through time, as you get new layers of skin as you grow. But if you still dont feel safe, drink 2 litres of water a day to replenish your insides and skin. Eat your fruits and vegies and dont abuse foods that are very unhealthy for you or that make your skin dry or dehyrate yourself.

Also, the main reason I got stretch marks was because I did my weight training excercises before my cardio, which wasnt good for my skin because I wasnt warmed up and loose. Make sure did get warmed up or sweat a little before weights, so your body and muscles arent tensed up.

Stretch marks are when the epidermal layer of the skin was stretched to its max, so for pregnant women, men trying to lose weight or are gaining weight etc. Apply and follow the recipe I gave above to prevent stretch marks from forming, your best bet is safer there.

White or silver stretch marks arent as noticable as you think, dont worry people wont notice. Purple ones with get better with care. Remember 8 out of 10 women get stretch marks. Along with many men as well.

well i am 15 and i have bad stretch marks on my inner thighs and a little on my inner calves. some on my hips and some on my breasts. i mean i think of myself as bigger than most people cause i am 125 pounds and i am only 4'11 and i dont think i will be growing anymore. but anyways, i havent a clue what will work but i just bought some bio-oil. it seems like its working a bit. i mean ive only tried it for 3 days so im hoping it gets better. i am also planning to loose weight this summer so. hopefully i will feel better about myself. for all teens out there, i would try bio-oil. just buy one bottle. its says it should last about 3 months. and i have told everyone in my family about my stretch marks. even my twin brother and once i told him it made me feel better cause he excepted me for them and now im not so embarressed to wear some things anymore. :]
well i hope bio-oil works for some of you if you try it........i guess this is just life huh??

i'm sixteen, and summer is starting.
about two months ago I realized that I was devloping red marks on my upper inner thigh, and on the outside of my thigh.
they really disgust me, and I cry about them all the time.
i am not fat at all, and I have always loved wearing swimsuit and short shorts, but this summer is going to be different.
i am never going to be able to wear what I love to in the summer,
and I honestly can't wait for summer to be over,
I don't want to feel like this, but I think I have to.
pleas someone help me, I can't deal with these horrible marks on me.

thank you

Castor Oil pack--25-30 mnts a day until all marks are gone! Castor oil releases toxins from skin, and also work for scars which is what stretch marks basically are! Castor oil will also make your facial skin younger and get rid of your wrinkles! ITs good for warts, moles, and dark spots--basically it works for any skin problem. Try it--u will be amazed! Works faster than most remedies if you combine with rosehip seed oil, tea tree oil, and vitamin e oil. Castor oil works like a laxative so dont be alarmed thats just your lympathic system detoxifying itself so drink plenty of water!
Let me know if anybody tries it and how it works for anybody!

They are making my life a living hell I just hate.

#83 - LT - 06/28/2009 - 01:05
I have a 5 year old and a 3 week old. I got deep marks from my first child, which has faded over time. I re-used my old stretch marks for my most recent child. They got red all over again and I got a few new ones.

I am currently trying a mixture of 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup aloe vera gel, and 6 capsules (broken) of Vitamin E oil. Mix and refrigerate overnight.

The strech marks are deep and red now, so I will update everyone on how it works for me over the next few months. I tried using Cocoa Butter while pregnant with my 1st child religiously, but did not work.

Hopefully this will work. Wish me luck!

Hi ladies, like most of you, i too have tried it all. I have them on my stomach, and behind my knee's, due to my 2 pregnancies...i'm a very athletic person, and eat well, but it's just something that happens to some...we must love and embrace our bodies...i have found that using a self tanner helps to decrease the appearance of them...Hope this helps..;-)

Hi everyone. Just want to say I really appreciate the tips. I have tried so many different things to get rid of my stretch marks, but the little suckers are still there, although they have faded a little bit but not much. BTW- I have tried Trilastin because there was a show on Tyra where they recommended it, but after a few months I gave up because I really didn\'t see much result from this product. It\'s still nice of Tyra to address the frustrating issue of stretchmarks though. I really like her show. (Also, has anyone tired Goodbye Cellulite by Nivea. It works pretty good for cellulite but you have to keep using it to keep the results. It does make your skin feel way soft though. You can get it at Wal-Mart for like 10.00 a bottle, which lasted me about a month.)

I have heard that emu oil really helps with stretchmarks. What a lot of stretchmark products lack is the ability to get down past the first few layers of skin. That\'s why they may fade a little bit, but not all the way. From what research I have been doing I have found out that emu oil gets down deep into the skin. I guess it is supposed to mimick something in our own skin or something like that. Anyway, I plan on trying it mixed with maybe bio oil or some other kinds of oils like olive or flaxseed and vitamin E oil. If it works on my stubborn marks that I have had for years then I will post my results and let you know if it works. I\'m just so tired of buying the expensive creams that have always let me down.

The Bible says that true beauty in a woman comes from fear of the Lord (meaning respect and reverence). I have that, but hopefully the emu and other oils may work too. God bless everyone. Let me know if the emu oil works if any of you try it too.

#92 - ugly marks - 08/03/2009 - 23:42
Aww poor beautiful girls, especially those being taken over by puberty. I know how you feel as I had the same problem, I am now 25 but... When I first got them I had no idea what they were and I hated them but didn't bother treating them. I got them on my shoulders my hips my butt my thighs and right below my waist. It was embarracing and I fet self concious about them but like I said I didn't know what they were and didn't treat them specifically. Maybe put on lotion here and there but not for the purpose of fading stretch marks and FIRST OFF you should know that they fade on their own. It's likely they will get to the point where you can barely even see them if at all. The ones on my lower body pretty much became invisible on their own but the shoulder ones, even though they fadedm in certain light or certain angles I could see them and I was embarraced to wear short sleeves in my younger adult hood. I got marries at 18 and my jerky husband pointed them out. Well I started using cocoa butter on them and on one shoulder they are completely invisible, sometimes if I rub my skin I may feel a hint of them though but no one can see them. On the other shoulder I got a tattoo where they seemed a little more stubborn (not telling any teens to go get a tat) but just be consistent with whatever you do. Don't get dicouraged and give up because in some cases these ugly stretchmarks can take up to a year to fade so don't give up just because you are not seeing results as fast as you may want. For those calling people fat, and saying stop eating and work out! You are very ignorant and probably have some on your own butt or some place you don't know!! but it's not from excessive eating and working out does not get rid of what's there. Maybe you are just fortunate not to have them, does not mean screw with people who have them because I'm sure it makes us feel bad enough without your help. I bet over 90% of these posts are from females because we are more prone to them with pregnancy, growth spurts, puberty and development of breasts and hips and everything else that makes us sexy. There is nothing wrong with your body, you just need to stay confident and not let anyone tear you down. Maybe your friends don't have them now and they may be stick thin and make you feel small but those girls are the ones who are going to have one hell of a time once they get pregnant and with the expansion of hips, boobs and stomach... And you may be just fine because your body has already stretched and gained more elasticity. I am now battling the marks again as I just had twins! I did not get big other than my stomach growing so I have them on my belly. I do believe that had I only had one baby I wouldn't have got them at all because I didn't get them til 8 months! So I am using an apricot scrub and cocoa butter and also I am ordering a cream for it since with pregnancy they were a bit more exstensive. It's called revitagen-fx... Pretty costly but I've heard nothing but good about it. You don't have to go expensive for basic marks though, just be persistant with cocoa butter which sells very cheap and Shea butter as well if you could mix those 2 things and even better if it has vitamin E (which most lotions do) you will be good to go. Look in stores for the cocoa butter lotion with the pregnant woman on front, whether you are preg or not this lotion is good in preventing new stretchmarks appearing and also fading dark ones you may already have. It's easy to find at like Walmart Kmart drug stores. Lotion Isle, o rjust ask a clerk. But keep your heads up high and stay faithful to whatever treatment you use, it will absolutely pay off. ps. Sorry for bad grammar and punctuation. I was just doing some research and I saw this and it made me sad for what you ladies and maybe some fellas are going through but I was there and again I am battling them but I won before and with my positive outlook I'm sure this time will be no different even with a more severe case. my baby is crying lol need to see to her. If I find this site later I will post my results.
God bless

the summer is almost over, and i havent been able to wear any of my short shorts... because of dreadful stretch marks on my inner thigh. Ive had them for months, maybe half a year and they are still red. they are fading but extremely slowly. is there anything i can do so i can wear shorts back to school in september without any stretch marks ?>-(
#96 - shortshater - 08/21/2009 - 00:52
I am 26, and I had my stretch marks for over 10 years tried just about everything with liitle results. thats until I recently bought a derma roller and i rolled for twice a week and put palmers stretch mark cream on right after. I used the palmers cream every day. about 6 weeks later my marks were almost gone, at first i thought it wasnt working. apparently your skin rejuvenates itself every 40 days so thats really when you will see improvement for any product that you use. I hope this helps, i have been doing this for 3 months now and i can barely see my marks. oh and drink lots of water.

I've had stretch marks since I was 10. [20 yrs old now] >-( However, I'm not going to say it's because of a growth spurt, because I've always been plus sized. For all of you younger girls out here, why would you want booty shorts anyway? If you want mister right you need to cover it up! Let the men be curious about what's underneath!

Anyways, stretch marks aren't so horrible. But I am going to try to using glycerin [local walmart] and see if that will help fade them. Mine haven't faded, and didn't start off pink. We're all different. Hell, I've met guys that have them. My boyfriend has one. Seriously, one stretch mark. It's diagonal going from his underarm pointing to his collar bone. xD Don't worry about the stretch marks. If anything is ever said about them, knock the goob off their high horse. =] Confidence is the key!

hi girls, im 17 years old and i share the same problem. i have been using palmer's cocoa butter and it has been working for me. but you have to use it regularly. i constantly keep the stretch marks covered in lotion to prevent them from drying out. i am a bit self consicence about my body right now but it isnt the end of the world. i understand that there is a certain appearance that girls feel obliged to look like, like models and celebrities but they are human and they do share the same stuff we do. i do reccommend you girls to give palmer's a try. and if that doesnt work there are many other options. but it isnt something to stress over. take care!!!:-D and keep smiling
