Bookmark and Share

Vaginitis is defined as an inflammation of the vagina featured by discharge, foul smell, irritation, and/or itching in the organ.

Vaginitis can be asymptomatic, but generally leads to significant vaginal itching and irritation as said before, so that the patient either needs self-medication or seeks professional help. If it is raised by an infectious organism like chlamydia, the infection progress further and seats into the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries and could lead to major complication like infertility. An infection caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) can gradually increase the risk of cervical carcinoma.

Causes of Vaginitis

  • Vaginal yeast infection
  • Vaginal candidiasis
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Allergy
  • Atrophic Vaginitis
  • Menopause
  • Vaginal cancer
  • Ovary removal surgery
  • Foreign body in vagina
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Over masturbation
  • Frequent and vigorous intercourse
  • Unhygienic condition
  • Fabric allergies as by underwear

Other home remedy for Vaginitis is using plain tea bag soaked in water and then cooled in refrigerator. This can be applied externally to prevent itching. The tannin present in tea gets you a soothing touch.

Vaginitis remedy - One can also use cold compress that alleviates the swelling and itching inside the vagina. The cooling factor will squeeze the blood vessels and will prevent it from becoming inflamed and turning red. This is one of the effective Vaginitis treatment.

anything that is discolored other than your cycle needs professional care. That is a true sign of an std especially if it has an odor.

AVENTURA. go to the local clinic its usually free. i do not think skipping your period when u just stared it is a problem. in the beggining the sycle doen't regulate for a while. as to the other stuff? u need a doctor in case of an infection.

hi,
i recently got a case of cystitis but i managed to flush it out. now i'm red down there with constant burning feeling and really really heavy whitish thick discharge. before the discharge arrived i thought i was just sore (my bf is quite big) now i think i passed the urinary tract infection on to my vagina.... is that possible??? no bad smell, no itching so its not thrush. i'm confused. help. thanks.
#13 - needhelp - 10/23/2009 - 11:27
Everyone theres a remedy go to earth clinic.com folic acid is mentioned several times as the remedy
#14 - Rachel - 11/14/2009 - 04:51
needhelp, it sounds like you have a yeast infection, which is common after treating certain infections because the pH down there can be sensitive but definitely see a doctor... Sonny, my first thought was an STD, but you must get checked out because it may be something life-threatening as hopefully helpful suggested. Just some fyi: always eat yogurt and drink cranberry juice when taking antibiotics to help replace the good bacteria destroyed.

#18 - helpme - 01/11/2010 - 09:06
My dauqhter was having the same problem a couple of weeks ago. She started using vaginal wash instead of soap and the itching stopped. I also recommend using dreft laundry soap on your underware. If that doesn't work try monistat. I hope this will help.

I was wondering has anyone ever had a cut that keeps coming back in the rectum or vagina area. No it isn't a herpes. I checked. My doctor says its a outside yeast infection. Never heard of it till now. Anyones I don't get it often but it still comes back. Funny thing is putting hot water on it makes it better and not touching it. I wish I knew if it was contagious cuz I have females who live with me.
