NATURAL HOME REMEDIES FOR VARICOSE VEINS
Bookmark and Share

Veins are thin-walled vessels that carry impure blood back to the heart. Veins act as one-way valve that prevents the impure blood from flowing backwards. When these valves become weak, the blood flows back to the veins and results in congestion due to blood clots. With the congestion the veins become enlarged and this condition is known as varicose veins. The word varicose is derived from the Latin word varix, which means twisted. Varicose veins can occur in any part of the body but the most affected part is legs. The veins of the legs are divided into two systems –

The deep veins
that run deep to the leathery layer of fascia surrounding the muscles.

The superficial veins
that run in the layer of fat just beneath the skin.

Between these two veins, the superficial veins are the ones that become varicose. The varicose veins are dark purple or blue in colour.

Types of varicose veins
  • Venous lakes
These are pools of blood in the veins found on the face and neck.
  • Reticular veins
These are flat, blue veins under the skin that are mostly seen behind the knee.
  • Telangiectases
These are fine clusters of blood vessels reddish in color and mostly found on the face or upper body.
Causes of Varicose Veins
The various causes of varicose veins are:
  • Pregnancy
  • Obesity
  • Long-standing periods
  • Lack of exercise

Hi,I am glad to find this site. I have been suffering with ecxema(stacys) for over a decade. I was sent to dermatologist and they gave me creams. Then was sent to allergy specialists.Told me to stay away from almost all food catogaries. Finally I explored the web and found out that all my problems were due to the vericose veisns. I don't know why these doctors go med school. They just bounce you from one to the other.Istarted on ACV with honey twice a day .only 4 days and I can feel the difference. I also take 3000 mg vitamin C and 800 IU Vit.E. My itching is almost under control I sleep better. My left leg below the knee including my ankles & part of my feet are dark in color and swells. i could barely walk. My wish is to wear open sandles and long skirt to go to church and kneel down to pray at the alter.I am also peddling the bike for 30 min/day..

;-) To Rose of Fresco: Hi! Just wondering if any of these remedies helped you!? What did you used? Thanks!
:-) And to redruby: We have the same problem... i'm having a seasonal eczema. But not that severe. Just got it after birth of my 2nd child. I'm quite puzzled about it's connection to varicose veins. Further info please... Thanks!
