Lipstick Applying Tips

Lipstick is a wonder color cosmetic which helps define personality of the woman wearing it. Lipstick is available in wide range of colors. You can wear different colors of lipstick matching your skin tone. Lipstick is the most popular cosmetic worldwide.

Lipstick not only provides color to the lips but also it protects lips from environmental effects provided lipstick is of good quality. While choosing lipstick, look for one which has moisturizer and sun protection in it. If you just want a lipstick for moisturizing, then there are lipsticks with minimal pigment in them.

If you are in hurry, apply just lipstick and you have the looks. Lipstick gives the final touch to makeup. Select the color of lipstick according to the occasion, skin tone, and outfit and weather conditions. Lipstick is best applied with lip brush which is made up of nylon bristles for applying neatly. After applying base, draw a lip line with lip liner. Lip liner plays an important role for giving a perfect finishing touch to the lipstick application. Start drawing the line from the centre of upper lip and draw towards, corners. For lower lip, draw from the corner to corner.

Now take lip-color on the brush and start applying from the centre of lips and carefully fill within the lip line. Do not fill excessive lip color; first try filling little lipstick and gradually fill more if needed. If you over apply lip color, it looks clumsy.

After applying lip color, apply lip gloss over it.

Lipstick Applying tips:

 Before applying lipstick, prepare a base with foundation or lip base. It helps lipstick to stay there longer and also it reflects the actual colour of lipstick.

Always use a narrow lip brush for lipstick application because it can apply lipstick in smaller creases and corners easily. It also prevents you from applying excess lip - colour than required.

Apply a fine layer of Chap Stick as lip colour fixative. It also helps lipstick to last longer.

After applying foundation apply loose powder to set it.

After applying one coat of lipstick, blot it with tissue. It removes excess colour and helps colour to stick to the lips.

Never use dark shade of lip liner with light shade of lipstick.

Use lipsticks containing lip conditioner as they have longer staying capacity and they keep lips nourished and moisturised.

A thin layer of lip gloss over lip colour makes lips shiny.

If you have put too much lip gloss, press single ply tissue and dust a bit of loose powder.

Or if you want to reduce the effect of dark or bright colored lipstick or lip pencil, apply an overcoat of lip gloss.

Another trick for keeping lipstick for longer, apply lip pencil all over the lips and tehn apply lip color over it.

Sometimes lipstick passes on to teeth too. To keep the lipstick off the teeth, put your index finger your mouth and make a ‘O’ shape of lips, touching the lips and slowly pull it out of the mouth. Any extra lipstick will come out on the finger.

While eating something in a party, use less of lips rather use lower teeth and tongue.

For more shine over lips, you can use lip lacquer also over lipstick or without lipstick.

For more shimmery effect, apply sheer lip-gloss in any bright shade like golden, silver etc over lip color.

Do not forget to apply moisturiser over lips before lipstick application.

If you have fuller, do not apply lipliner or lip gloss over lipstick.

Never use a test lipstick on your lips as it is unhygienic rather test on your lips. Some people test on the back of your hand.

Never use a blush as lipstick but you can use a lipstick as blush.

For the older people, creamier lipsticks are recommended as there lips become dry with growing age.

If you do not like any lip color, do not throw it away rather blend different shades to create a new great shade of lipstick.
