Scar is a mark which is left behind after an injury. The injury may be caused due to burns, cuts, bruises etc. however a scar does not look good on the face or the body and mars your personality. There are lot of chemical products available in the market to fade away scars, but there are some home remedies which if followed regularly will be helpful in removing the scars.

Here Are 12 Home Remedies For Scar Tissue

1. Lemon

Lemon is a bleaching agent and can remove scars effectively. Cut lemon into two halves and apply one part on the scars. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash with normal water. Repeat this process regularly for 10 days till you see visible changes. Also drink lemon juice regularly twice daily [1].

2. Almonds

Soak 2-3 almonds in water overnight and grind it by adding little water to it to form a smooth paste. Add few drops of rose water to it and apply it on the affected areas. Leave it until it dries and wash off with cold water. Repeat this process once every day till the scar fades off completely.

3. Sandalwood

Take one teaspoon of sandalwood powder and add 2-3 drops of rose water and sufficient quantity of milk to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the scars and let it dry off completely. Wash off with cold water and pat dry. Repeat this process 2-3 times in a week to see visible difference [2].

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is good to fade scars. Take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and add a pinch of camphor powder to it. Mix well and apply it on the affected areas regularly. Leave it for 30 minutes and wipe off the oil with a cotton wall and wash it off with normal water. Repeat this process once daily for a month. It will slowly reduce the scars.

5. Honey

Honey is a natural moisturizer and is effective on scar. Take 1 tablespoon of honey and add few drops of lime juice and rose water to it. Apply this solution on the affected areas. Leave it for one hour and wash off with lukewarm water. Follow this home remedy regularly to get rid of scars.

6. Potato

Cut potato slices and blend them in a blender. Extract the juice and apply it on the affected areas. Keep it for 1-2 hours and wash off with cold water. Repeat this process regularly for 2 weeks to reduce scars naturally. Also you can refrigerate the potato slices and keep them on the affected areas for 15-20 minutes daily [3].

7. Turmeric

Turmeric helps to lighten the scars. Take 1 tablespoon of turmeric and mix milk in it to form a fine paste. Apply this mix on the affected areas and leave it to dry. Wash it with normal water and pat dry. Follow this process once every day before going to bed. The scars will fade away slowly.

8. Cucumber

Grate some cucumber slices and extract the juice from it. Apply the juice on the affected areas and let it dry. Wash off with cold normal water and pat dry. You can also store cucumber slices in the refrigerator and keep it on the affected areas. Repeat this process regularly and it will reduce scars to a great extent [4].

9. Tomato

Cut tomato into two halves and gently rub one half on the affected areas. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash off with normal water. You can also extract the tomato juice and massage on the scars twice daily for about 2-3 weeks. The scars will fade off slowly. You can also combine cucumber and tomato juice and apply it on the scars [5].

10. Papaya And Salt

Take few slices of ripe papaya and mash them thoroughly. Add one tablespoon of course salt to it and mix it to form a scrub. Apply it all over the affected areas and scrub gently. Repeat this process regularly to see visible difference. Salt scrub removes dead cells and papaya gives a glowing skin. The scars will fade away very soon [6].

11. Fenugreek

Take some fenugreek leaves and blend it to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the affected areas and let it dry completely. Wash off with cold water and pat dry. Boil fenugreek seeds in water and use the solution as a face wash. Repeat this process once every day to get rid of scars [7].

12. Apple Cider Vinegar

Take a cotton ball and soak it in the apple cider vinegar solution. Dab the cotton on the affected area and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with normal water. Follow this method regularly before going to bed to see the scar fade away naturally [8].
