Due to this excessive sweating, the sweat glands get blocked resulting in the development of small bumps that are seen over the affected area. The rashes and itchiness of this prickly heat sometimes becomes so uncontrollable that people with big finger nails may even hurt themselves. Although there are ointments and other medications available, natural cures are the best for prickly heat, as they have no side effects. Here are some natural cures for prickly heat:
Taking a good bath is one of the easiest ways to get instant relief from prickly heat. Adding oatmeal powder to it will just make it better. Take some oatmeal powder and add it to your bathing water.
Take a bath with this water and focus on pouring it over the area which is affected. This will give you immediate relief from prickly heat.
This is another effective treatment for prickly heat. Take some gram flour and mix it with water to make a paste of it. Apply this paste over the affected area, covering every visible part of the prickly heat area. Keep it on for 30 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Do this remedy two to three times a day.
Coconut taken in any form is a good healer of prickly heat. Have coconut water early in the morning on an empty stomach. If taken daily it will help remove the prickly heat from the body and also prevent it from reappearing.
A paste prepared from coconut oil mixed with some cumin powder is also very effective to get rid of prickly heat. Take this paste and apply it to the affected area, keep it on for at least an hour. Wash the area with cold water and then have a good bath.
Another magnificent remedy for the cure of prickly heat. Take 3 table spoons of fuller’s earth and adding 2 table spoons of rose water mix it well. Apply the prepared mixture over the affected and keep there for three hours. Wash the area slowly and gently with cold water. Do this for couple of times a day.
Applying ice cubes over the prickly heat will not only give instant relief from the itchiness, but also sooth the skin. It will also remove inflammation if any, and at the same time help puncture the small bumps.
Another effective way to use the ice cubes is to take some mint leaves and boil it for some time. Then strain it and put it in the ice moulds. Freeze it and use it over the prickly heat. The ice cube treatment should be done three times a day.
