Neti Pot

A Neti pot has been used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for centuries as a treatment of sinusitis and rhinitis. It is still considered to be the most effective method of getting rid of nasal congestion and keeping the nasal passage clear. It is much better than the usual nasal sprays and drops that tend to have harmful side effect.

In order to use a Neti pot, take a mild salt solution in lukewarm water and pour it through the nozzle of the pot into one nostril. Let the water drain out of the other nostril. Repeat this process with the other nostril as well. This will clear all the mucus in the nasal passage and sinuses and also remove the harmful pollen, dust particles, germs etc that are lodged in the mucus membranes. It is one of the effective and long lasting natural cures for spring ailments.

Bayberry

Make a hot decoction of bayberry and sip it hot. This will help a lot in boosting the body’s immune system and help it to fight off infections. This herb is easily available in herbal stores.

Peppermint And Chamomile

Peppermint and chamomile are both known for their healing properties and are widely used in the western herbal system of medicine.

These herbs are easily available in health food stores and herbal stores. Sipping a tea made of these herbs 2-3 times a day will help a lot in healing spring ailments especially the ones related to the respiratory system.

Ginger

Ginger is another great herb which is known for its anti inflammatory properties and is also used in treating digestive disorders like nausea, gas etc. It is also effective as one of the natural cures for spring ailments especially in the case of hay fever.

For best results crush a piece of ginger and boil it in water for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool and then add honey and lemon juice to it. Sipping this decoction will alleviate the symptoms of hay fever.

Nettle

The extract of nettle is also highly recommended for the treatment of hay fever. This extract is available in a standardized form in herbal stores. However, for the right dosage and way of consumption it is better to consult a professional herbalist. This is one of the effective natural cures for spring ailments.
