Share

Strong and beautiful nails enhance the beauty of your hands. However, due to various reasons your nails become dry and brittle. One of the most common enemies of your nails that are responsible for weakening your nails is nail polish remover. The strong solvent used for erasing the nail polish damages the delicate nail cells. Too much exposure to water and extreme temperature changes can also ruin your nails. However, there are a number of easy natural remedies that help in restoring the strength of the nails.

Here Are 5 Simple Natural Ways To Strengthen Brittle Nails

Manicure with coconut oil helps in strengthening the brittle nails. Warm some coconut oil. Soak your fingers in the lukewarm coconut oil for about a minute. Gently massage your finger for a few minutes with the oil. Rinse off the excess oil.[1]

Dip your fingers in lukewarm extra virgin olive oil for about 5 to 10 minutes. Take a few drops of lemon juice and gently massage your finger nails. Wipe off the excess oil and lemon juice from the fingernails. Do this daily to strengthen your brittle nails.[2]

3. Olive Oil And Castor Oil

Olive oil and castor oil, when combined together and applied to the nails, help in strengthening the nails. For brittle nails, mix a teaspoon of olive oil with equal amount of castor oil. Add ¼-teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and mix well. Saturate your nails with the oil mixture. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. Wipe off the excess oil.[3]
