It protects the body tissues against environmental and internal damage. Beta carotene which is a precursor to Vitamin A has been known to alleviate the issues around hair loss and thinning of hair line. Carrots, dark leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, dried herbs, butternut squash are the sources of vitamin A.

Biotin

Biotin boosts the renewal of cells and therefore provides thickness to the hair. The renewed cells lend a great shine to hair which dulls down by every day’s damage due to exposure to dust and pollution. Biotin has also been known to maintain the hair’s natural colour and delay greying.

Testosterone causes hair loss in men as well as women. Its derivative destroy the hair follicles and cause balding. Biotin blocks the effects of testosterone  on the hair. Lamb, beef, mussels, fish, eggs and cheese can be consumed to increase the levels of biotin in our body.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is known as skin brightening vitamin. It basically brightens the skin by clearing blemishes, sun burns and other dark marks providing it with uniform complexion. Vitamin C is also an anti-oxidant which flushes out toxins and impurities out of the bloodstream. The pollutants and impurities in our body are majorly responsible for unhealthy and dull skin. You can consume as well as apply the juices of ingredients that are carriers of vitamin c. Both the methods are bound to give you a better skin tone. Oranges, lemons, citrus fruits, strawberries are some of the abundant sources of this vitamin.

Vitamin E

Apart from hair loss, the major issue around hair that we all face are split ends. Split ends inhibit the hair growth and makes them lose shine. Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant, lends shine and boost the growth of hair. It is also an elixir for skin as vitamin E can provide suppleness and replaces the layer of dead skin.

However, overuse of this vitamin can cause an increase in acne and therefore it is important to consult your dermatologist before using it. Sunflower seeds, almonds, pine nuts, cooked spinach and peanuts are powerhouses of Vitamin E.
