6 Quick Home Remedies For Lethargy

Lethargy is a lack of enthusiasm, energy or a will to do anything. One can get lethargic due to lack of sleep, no exercise, poor diet, over working etc. The symptoms vary and entirely depend on the cause for the lethargy.

The most common symptoms are lack of appetite, chest pain, anxiety, cough, shortness of breath, increase in the heart rate, etc. The cause of the lethargy can be known by carefully studying the symptoms. There are some home remedies which can help in the condition of lethargy.

Home Remedies For Lethargy

Basil Tea

This is one of the most effective ways to get rid of the lethargy or to get energized.  Take 10-15 fresh basil leaves and putting it in water prepare tea of it. Have this basil leaves tea two to three times a day. Remember, don’t have it very hot but just warm.

It will give you the boost you need to get energized again. If basil tea is not possible any tea or coffee will prove effective to energize you. They are stimulating drinks and hence good in the condition of lethargy.

Exercise

Another way to keep you going is to exercise. Exercise will help tone your muscles, revitalize your energy, keep you active and fit.  It is not necessary to do heavy exercise, but just light ones like a morning walk, stretching out when tired, have a small walk after your lunch, and take breaks in between work to move your body muscles. You should exercise every day, and keep lethargy away. You can also try practicing yoga and deep breathing. This will not only build muscle strength, but also calm the mind.

Sprouts

Sprouts are a good source of energy, protein and iron. Once a week you should go on a sprout diet, which means once a week for the entire day, you must just eat sprouts. This will not only help ease your digestive system, but also give you the necessary energy.

Grapes

Grapes are a great source of energy. Since lethargy is highly related to loss of energy, grape is an ideal fruit for it. Take some grape juice and an equal measure of lemon juice. Mix it well and drink it, anytime throughout the day.  Having a glass of this grape and lemon juice everyday will help you get rid of the lethargy.

Potatoes

Take some potatoes and wash them clean. Without peeling off the skin, slice the potatoes and soak it in water. Keep the sliced potatoes in water through the night.

In the morning after removing the potatoes, strain the water and drink it. This water of the potatoes converts into a high potassium tonic, which helps the body in muscle movement and many other things as well.

Egg

This is another great source of energy. You should have at least one egg a day every day. Break the egg and have it directly or after breaking pour it in a glass add one tea spoon honey to it drink this mixture after mixing well. Eggs have many nutrients and proteins which will help in getting rid of the lethargy.
