Dealing with Fibromyalgia Pain

3 Natural Cures For Fibromyalgia Pain

The first and most effective way to deal with fibromyalgia pain is to learn to relax.  It is easier said than done, but here are some tips to make it easier to relax even when you are in pain. Learn to meditate and establish a daily ritual that helps to keep you relaxed and in control.  Meditation is not a religion and does not contradict any religious beliefs.  Sit in a quiet spot where you will not be disturbed.  You need not sit on the floor in a pretzel position.  A straight back chair that allows your feet to touch the floor is just fine.  Take normal breaths through your nose and concentrate on the air flowing into your nostrils or your chest.  Exhale and feel the air flowing out.

If you are tense at any time during the day, take a short break.  Try concentrating on your breath for a minute or two and then have a cup of tea or stroll around the room to relieve tension.  Green tea and chamomile is an excellent combination that affords a little relaxation without drowsiness.

Exercise such as walking or swimming can promote health and relaxation.  Yoga is another exercise that helps to stretch and then relax muscles.  Mild exercise on a regular basis should be part of your overall plan to deal with fibromyalgia pain and other symptoms.  Don’t push yourself or overdo it.

If you become anxious and uptight because of fibromyalgia pain, you can take a soothing warm bath.  Use bath preparations with lavender and rose oils to gain the most benefit from a bath.  If anxiety prevents you from sleeping, make yourself an oasis in your bedroom using lavender for its’ soothing, restful properties.

Treat yourself to a professional massage or other spa treatment that encourages relaxation.  A facial, manicure or pedicure may be a way to relax and enjoy a little pampering.

To eliminate some stress that may aggravate fibromyalgia pain, take some time to look at your daily, weekly and monthly schedules.  Are you trying to do too much?  Are you forgetting to schedule some important “me time” when making your plans?  Enjoyable activities like spending time with friends, hobbies and just doing nothing should not be left out.
