Tinea Versicolor is one of the many types of yeast infections which can be cured with the help a few herbs. The symptoms of yeast infection are appearance of rashes around the back, chest, neck, shoulders and upper arms. Spotting and patching is seen in the effected area. The following are a few natural cures for Tinea Versicolor.
Tea tree oil is highly beneficial in skin diseases. It is used in many skin creams and treatments. It is an antifungal agent, and can be applied on the area. Liberal application of tea tree oil on the effected area for a time span of two weeks can help in curing the skin problem. One thing which should be kept in mind while using tee tree oil is, it is an essential oil, and can be harsh on skin. Sensitive skin does not react well to this oil, so carrier oil should be used to dilute this oil, to avoid side effects. Conducting a patch test before using this oil is not a bad idea.
Candle bush which is also known as senna alata is another cure for this ailment. This herb is a successful treatment for ringworms as well. Candle bush preparation is available in the market.
This is ready to use and is less time consuming to apply. However, if the preparation is not available in the market then grounded candle bush leaves, mixed with olive oil should be applied to the effected area for best results.
Apple cider vinegar is not only used in salad dressings, it is an effective cure for Tinea Versicolor as well. This is also an antifungal agent, which if applied to the effected area can yield good results. Vinegar must never be applied directly on skin. It must be diluted in a cup of water before application.
Mustard seeds are yet another successful treatment for this skin disease. For the application, mustard seeds must be grounded and then mixed with water, making a thick paste like concoction.
The mixture should be applied in the area which is affected by Tinea Versicolor and should be allowed to dry completely before washing off. The mixture takes around half an hour to dry, after which the area should be cleansed with cold water.
Gently crushed rice mixed with unrefined flour and tomato juice can help in curing this ailment. This method is effective, but a little time consuming. The paste should be applied for 5 minutes every day and then rubbed off in an exfoliating movement. If you can do this regularly, you will get positive result after a few days.
