Urticaria is a notable skin rash caused by allergic and non-allergic mediums. Generally, the acute forms of this infection which last for about six weeks are triggered by allergens. However the chronic urticaria infection stretches for more than six weeks and is rarely allergic.
The cause of the chronic form are hard to diagnose and may be ascribed to autoimmune reasons, viral infection and even varied reasons like temperature fluctuations, pressure or sunlight may trigger the infection.
Urticaria Wheals may appear anywhere on the skin surface. It is accompanied by itching and redness of the skin, along with fever and digestive irregularities. The size of these wheals or raised surfaces may vary from minute to some inches. Mostly these Hives (as urticaria is referred to because of its bee-hive like network) appear in clusters, but sometimes even a single hive may be present, which remains for about 24 hrs. and is extremely painful and leaves behind bruises. However, the good news is that you can cure urticaria at home through administration of easily available natural remedies. This is what you can do.
Local application of basil leaf, aloe vera or sandalwood paste on the affected area gives relief. Same is true for red ochre and alum, grind them together and apply the resultant powder. A mixture of vinegar and rose water give immediate relief from itching.
12gms salt in water should be taken for inducing vomit. It gives relief and cures eruptions. Drinking a mixture of mint leaves and brown sugar boiled together relieves itching. A small amount of Rauwolfia Serpentina root powder mixed with water is also a good remedy. Same is true with turmeric powder taken with water.
Application of milk of magnesia, strained boiled oat water and papaya mash are very helpful in bringing relief. Continues application of ice pack and cold milk compress are also godsend in urticaria inflammation.
Use of Epsom salt, oat strain and baking soda in your bath water is a natural cure. No soap should be applied because it interferes with the medicative properties.
Quercetin, a plant flavonoid is a quite powerful antioxidant. It feeds on free radicals that damage body cells. This phytochemical is found in green leafy vegetables, green and black tea, citrus fruits, apple, different grains etc. Eating a flavonol rich diet during urticaria infection brings dividends. Also include Vitamin C rich diet, which revitalizes your immune system.
Do breathing exercises and meditation to avoid stress. Try to remain cheerful and relaxed. Reducing tension also reduces the inflammation, as also your chances of re-eruption.Don’t remain indoors. Expose your body to the fresh air outside. Sunlight is a natural healer. However, do take care not to come in contact with extreme climates like too much heat, cold or humidity. Use sunscreen or wear warmer clothes as the weather dictates. Also avoid coming in direct contact with dirt and pollutants which may escalate your problems.
