Include a lot of fluids in your daily diet such as ginger ale, ginger tea, chamomile tea and other herbal drinks. Chicken soup is also a very good option. It helps in warming up the body. Drink plenty of water as well to keep your system hydrated.

Neti Pot

The neti pot is a traditional method of curing sinus problems and head congestion. It has been used since traditional times by Ayurvedists and Chinese health practitioners. In order to make use of this remedy you need to fill a neti pot with a saline solution that is prepared out of salt and warm water.

Now insert the sprout of the neti pot into one of your nostrils and tilt your head to the other side so that the serum flows into your nasal passage and then comes out through the other nostril. These neti pots are very inexpensive and safe to use as well. It is one of the best ways of curing head congestion caused due to a blocked nose.

Eucalyptus Oil

It has been proved in many researches that eucalyptus oil has great properties that help in relieving head congestion. You need to add a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a hot steaming big bowl of water. Now wrap a towel over your head and all around the big bowl. Make sure you keep your head near to the bowl over it. Now keep on inhaling the steam for at least 10 minutes. Do this therapy twice daily and within a period of 2 to 3 days you will get relief from your head congestion.

Garlic

Garlic also helps in curing head congestion. Use garlic to flavor your food and also eat 5 to 10 raw garlic cloves daily. You can also put garlic oil in a big bowl of hot water and inhale the steam as given in the previous remedy.

Deep Breathing

If you have head congestion then practice deep breathing exercises in the open air to get instant relief from the condition. Deep breathing is very good for the health and must be practiced everyday to keep all sorts of health disorders at bay.
