Exfoliation means removing the dead cells, dirt and body secretions deposited on our skin. Removing them or exfoliating makes our skin soft, glowing and healthy.
These external factors depositing on our skin block the pores of our skin so it is not able to breathe thus making it dry, flaky and unhealthy.
So to have soft and supple skin is very easy by just exfoliating every day. And exfoliation is not a tough task to do.It is very easy and you can do it at home that is you can prepare natural exfoliates on your own. Listed below are a few homemade scrub recipes you can make at home.
It is best suited for dry skin, if you do not use scrubs because of dry skin then this scrub will really help without making your skin dry. Take half avocado and deseed it, remove the skin and mash it properly till it becomes smooth paste. Then mix it with two inches of peeled and grated cucumber. Then add one tablespoon of white sugar and one tablespoon of honey to it.
While preparing the mixture do keep on adding a few drops of olive oil. Remember not to add too much olive oil just add few drops may be 7-10 drops just to make the paste smooth. Apply this scrub and exfoliate your body. Leave the paste on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Scrub being a good moisturiser might not get off easily but does not use soap to remove it.
Sugar is easily available in every kitchen, so for this scrub you do not have to gather many ingredients, Moreover the granular form of sugar adds to the scrubs effectiveness. What you need for this scrub is just one cup of sugar and half cup of olive oil or almond oil. Mix them well and for fragrance you can add 10-15 drops of essential oil like lavender oil etc. Apply this scrub on wet skin with hands or bath glove or loofah sponge.
Rub it gently over the skin in circular motion do not rub it too hard. Be very gentle on your face skin and neck then rub on your hands and then cover the whole body one by one. Once you are through with the whole body rinse your body with warm water. Do not forget to apply moisturiser after bathing to close the open pores.
Similarly you can prepare salt scrub too. Instead of sugar add one cup of salt in half cup of almond oil or olive oil along with 10-15 drops of essential oil. Do not use this scrub on your facial skin or on the areas with wounds or cuts as salt will sting in those areas. Use it in the same manner and it will do wonders as sugar scrub.
After exfoliation always remember to wash your skin with cold or warm (Luke) warm water, never use hot water for washing. Pat dry your skin after washing and apply a good toner or moisturiser to pamper your skin and close the open pores. You should exfoliate your skin once every week. And just discover the change in your skin tone, it will definitely glow and become soft.
