If you have a bad case of split ends, use olive oil instead. It contains vitamins A & E and is ideal for treating dry and damaged hair prone to split ends.
To start the oil massage, heat the oil till just warm and apply to your hair. Massage the ends well with your fingertips. Leave in for 1 hour and then shampoo and rinse.

Honey contains vitamins that enrich the hair and has a natural, mild moisturizing effect when applied topically. Mix one tablespoon of honey with 4 cups of warm water.
Apply this evenly to the length of the hair. Cover with a shower cap and allow it to remain for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair with a mild shampoo and cover your hair with a towel to absorb the water.
Do not blow dry. If you must, dry only on low heat. While honey is a natural humectant, it should always be diluted before application, preferably with water.
