5 Home Remedies For Belching

Excessive burping is called belching. If you are consuming food which may create excessive gas in your stomach, it will come out in the form of burping. In a normal routine, burps are a way of indicating that your food is digested but during belching, the manner of burping is different than the usual manner so we know it is pathologic in nature.

Accumulated gas in your stomach will make you feel uneasy all day and you will end up burping more than usual. Food that is severely oily or spicy can cause gas build up in your digestive track. Here are simple home remedies to help you treat belching:

Belching Home Remedies

Ginger

Ginger tea or gingerroot will help you prevent gas accumulation in your stomach. You can prepare some ginger tea and have it before your meals. Twice a day is enough to control your burping.

Take a pot of boiling water, some ginger and some honey to give a good taste. Strain the contents and drink the tea sip by sip. You could also chew on a washed gingerroot to feel better.

Cardamom Tea

Cardamom helps to digest your food better and faster. You can prepare tea by mixing 1 teaspoon of cardamom to one cup of hot water. Prepare it over the gas for about 10 minutes and let it cool down until it is cool enough to drink. Sip the tea slowly and no need to gulp it down quickly. It will soothe your stomach instantly and also control your symptoms of belching.

Avoid Sodas

Carbonated drinks or sparkling wines will cause gas build up in your stomach. Have you shaken a bottle of cola before opening it? The amount of gas that comes up will be the amount of gas accumulated in your stomach and that amount of gas cannot be good at all.

It can cause more than just simple belching. So you should avoid carbonated drinks, sparkling wines and sometimes even beer has a lot of gas content. Having fresh fruit juices and lot of water will help you keep your body hydrated and also relieve belching.

Chew Your Food

When you are eating in a hurry, you forget to chew your food properly. When you don’t chew your food properly, you tend to swallow a lot of air with it. It is better to sit down and eat your food properly instead of suffering all day because of belching. Also, if you are one of those people who eat pretty fast, it is high time you cut down on the speed of your eating. It is advisable that you close your mouth when you chew your food.

Avoid Smoking

When you are smoking a cigarette, there is a big possibility that along with inhaling smoke, you are also swallowing it.There is no specific ideal pattern of smoking so it is better if you quit it altogether to avoid the discomfort caused due to belching. When you quit smoking, you will see an improvement in your symptoms immediately.
