5 Home Remedies For Common Digestive Disorders

Share

The digestive system works day in and day out to help nourish the mind and the body. The kind of food that we eat is mainly responsible for common digestive disorders like indigestion, heartburn, gas, constipation, peptic ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and gerd.

All these disorders cause abdominal pain and cramps, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite and general malaise. The food that we eat is partially digested into the stomach with the help of enzymes and acid which the stomach produces to digest the food. The food then passes into the small intestine where all the nutrients from it are absorbed and passed into the blood stream.

The remaining waste is pushed into the large intestine or the bowel from where it is eliminated as feces through the rectum. If the food passes into the bowel without being digested properly then the bacteria found in the gut break it down giving rise to malodorous gas. Bacterial overgrowth can take place in the small intestine as well as the large intestine. They cause fat and carbohydrates malabsorption which are then left in the intestines to ferment-resulting in gas, pain, bloating and mucus in the stool.
