5 Home Remedies For Hyperactivity

Hyperactivity means restlessness and too much of muscle activity. A part of the body becomes very active due to production of too much of a hormone. Hyperactive behavior usually involves aggressiveness, inability to concentrate, fidgeting constantly, talking too much, and inability to sit quietly at a given task. Hyperactivity is mainly caused by attention deficit disorder, hyperthyroidism, brain and central nervous system disorders and emotional disorders.

Many children as well as adults suffer from this disorder. Hyperactive children are often depressed and unhappy. It becomes difficult for them to connect and interact with other children and are often punished for their excessive and inconsistent behavior. Adults become social outcasts and their normal routine life is totally disrupted at home as well as at their workplace.

Hyperactivity Home Remedies

Amla

Amla is full of powerful medicinal values which keep the entire body in good health and all its organs in good functioning order. It prevents oxidative stress caused by harmful free radicals in the body and ensures the proper working of the central nervous system and the brain.

It also renders the body free from all kinds of toxins and other impurities. Amla can be given to children as well as adults. Extract the juice of a few amlas till you get half a cup of it and drink it every morning.

Fish Oil

The brain needs more than adequate amounts of omega 3 fatty acids to function normally and optimally. People suffering from hyperactivity have a marked low level of these crucial acids.

Fish oil is an excellent source of natural omega 3 fatty acids which not only strengthen the nervous system but also enable the brain to transmit the electrical impulses correctly. You can give one capsule of fish oil to your child twice daily and adults can take two capsules twice daily.

Almonds

Almonds have been used since time immemorial for strengthening all the functions of the body and for keeping the body in prime health. Almonds are particularly very healthy for the brain because of their high amounts of key nutrients which keep the brain in good functioning order.

Soak some almonds overnight and in the morning grind them to a fine paste after removing their skin. Mix the paste in a glass of hot milk and drink it every morning. Give almond milk to your child twice daily.

Rest

Rest is very important for hyperactive children as well as adults. Make your child rest and take a short nap everyday. Over exertion can cause untold fatigue which makes the symptoms worse and unmanageable. Adults as well as children should also sit for ten minutes with their eyes closed and breathe deeply. Deep breathing reaches more oxygen to the brain and improves its function immensely.

Diet

Sugary foods, artificial food colorings and additives increase hyperactivity. A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables should be given to children as well as adults.

Fruits and vegetables contain powerful polyphenols and bioflavonoids which detoxify the body thoroughly, improve the function of the brain and keep the nerves calm and steady.
