5 Home Remedies For Ovulation

Share

When the ovary releases a mature egg known as ovum for fertilization, it is known as ovulation. The egg travels down the fallopian tube, to the uterus where, preparations to receive the egg have already been made.

If there is no conception, then the uterine lining together with blood is shed off. This shedding, of the egg and lining occurs every month in the form of menstruation. A mature egg lives for 12 to 24 hours after it leaves the ovary and usually only one egg is released during the time of ovulation and if the egg is not fertilized then it breaks up and is absorbed by the uterine lining.

A fertilized egg requires six to twelve days for implantation after ovulation. Every woman has millions of immature eggs that await ovulation and it can be greatly affected by stress, serious illnesses or some great disturbance in the normal routine of life.

Increase Your Fertility Naturally

Eggplant

Eggplant or brinjal is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2 and C and provides minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. It does not allow saturated fatty acids to be deposited in the arteries and enhances fertility.

Bake one medium sized eggplant. Then remove the skin and mash the pulp. Add chopped onion and garlic to it and eat it with buttermilk. Do this regularly for a month to increase fertility.

Hot Bath

Soak for half an hour in an extra warm bath everyday. This will de-stress the entire body and help it to relax thus making all its functions smooth and normal. The mind too will ease off the tribulations and help to optimize the functions of the pituitary gland which releases the hormone which stimulates the ovarian follicle. This hormone known as luteinizing hormone triggers ovulation and increases the size of the ovum. You can add any essential oil of your choice to your bath water.

Raisins

Raisins are full of vital nutrients such as iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorous which provide essential strength to the body and all its organs and help them to function well and properly. They make the womb stronger and increase fertility. Soak half a cup of raisins in some water overnight. In the morning drink the water and eat the raisins. Regular use will enhance the ovulation process.

Abstain From Alcohol and Smoking

Both alcohol and nicotine interfere with the process of ovulation. They disturb the hormonal balance in the body and disrupt the functions of the ovary. You should not have caffeinated beverages too.

Intake of animal food should also be limited as they affect the fertility levels. Include a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables which are rich in bioflavonoids and which help to maintain the hormonal levels in the body and increase fertility.
