Urinary tract infection is especially common among women and children but in rare cases even men can acquire it. This is a bacterial infection which occurs because of a bacteria known as E.coli. This ailment is not fatal but if left untreated for a prolonged period of time, then it can spread to other near by parts like kidneys etc.

Many people experience various symptoms while suffering from urinary tract infection. Most common symptom is the urge to urinate frequently. People suffering from this ailment also experience severe itching, burning sensation and pain in the lower back and abdomen. It is very important to get rid of urinary tract infection at the earliest to avoid drastic consequences.

Certain simple home remedies can do wonders for curing urinary tract infection. For starters, it is very important to keep your genitals clean and dry at all times to cure and treat urinary tract infection. Majority of the cases of urinary tract infection are as a result of unhygienic conditions. So ensure that you bathe yourself properly and clean your genitals after urinating and passing stools.

Also make sure that you empty your bladder completely and try not to leave any traces of urine in your bladder as that might worsen your infection. You can try applying various aromatic oils like tea tree oil, sandal wood oil etc in areas around your bladder area to treat urinary tract infection.

Increase your fluid uptake and ensure that you drink plenty of water. You can also try adding a teaspoonful of baking soda to your drinking water to get cured of urinary tract infection. Drinking few glasses of cranberry juice everyday works wonders for treating urinary tract infection. Avoid having caffeinated beverages and alcohol as those might worsen your condition. Keep away from foods rich in fats and sugars for faster recovery. Avoid having intercourse while getting treated for this ailment as it is not good for your condition nor is it gonna be pleasant. If you do not feel any better after trying these remedies then make a visit to your doctor and seek medical supervision.
