Low blood pressure is not as prevalent and common as high blood pressure condition. Both conditions may be considered as the reverse of each other. In the high blood pressure, the blood pressure is above the normal range whereas in case of low blood pressure, the blood pressure is below the normal range.

Both conditions are bad for health but high blood pressure, which is also known as hypertension, is far much dangerous than the low blood pressure condition. But in severe cases, both low as well as high blood pressure can be threatening to your life. So it is wise to be familiar with the symptoms of low blood pressure too!

Pressure is considered to be low when the pressure exerted by blood against the blood vessels walls, is lower than the normal post and during each heart beat.

Given below are some of the major low blood pressure symptoms that should be looked out for. If you experience these symptoms then you must not waste your time and see your doctor as soon as possible. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor and get proper guidance and treatment for it.

You may notice the symptoms of low blood pressure at any point of life if you are taking certain drugs like anti-hypertensive medications, anti-anxiety drugs, anti-depressants, medications for heart disease, and drugs used for surgery. Use of alcohol, narcotics and other similar drugs, dehydrations, advanced stage of diabetes, heart failure/heart attack, etc can also make you to experience low blood pressure symptoms.

Most important symptoms of low blood pressure, experienced by the patients are dizziness, lightheadedness and nausea. Irregular heartbeat, headache, stiffness in neck area, back pain and breathlessness are some other major symptoms of low blood pressure.

People, who suffer from low blood pressure, have the tendency to faint. Hence, fainting is one of the common symptoms of low blood pressure. Chest pain and maroon or dark colored stools are two other low blood pressure symptoms that should be looked out for.

Low blood pressure can be dangerous as it hampers the proper circulation of blood to all the body parts. And when the body cells do not get sufficient amount of blood they are deprived of oxygen and nutrients. This obstructs the elimination of the waste products present in blood, which is not at all a good sign of healthy body.
