Natural Cures For Anal Fissure

Anal fissure refers to a condition when there is a cut or tear in the anus. The primary reason for anal fissures is constipation. This condition can be very painful and disturbing while bowel movement. The symptoms are rectal bleeding and itching.

While it is necessary to seek professional advice during this time, there are certain remedies that can improve the condition by eradicating discomfort and pain and by healing the condition to certain extent. Here are few remedies that can be tried at home to improve the condition:

Eat Fibrous Food

It is advised to intake lot of fibrous food for people suffering from anal fissure. This can ensure a healthy and regular bowel movement and can rectify constipation to a greater extent.

Foods such as whole grains, molasses and lentils can be consumed. It is advisable not to take too much refined or processed food. Leafy vegetables, lettuce, beans, cabbage, beet etc. are good options.

Drink Water

Lots of water consumption is equally important and one should keep in mind the more the water intake the more likely constipation is to be cured. An average of 8 glasses of water is a must on a daily basis. Try to distribute the intake throughout the day instead of piling in at the same time.

Take Juices

Fruit juices are to be regularly taken during breakfast. Raw juice from orange, carrot and pineapple can be taken during this time which can ensure that your fluid intake is enough.

The more the fluid intake is the more likely you are going to get cured. The amount of fluid intake should be so that your urine colour will be yellow or transparent like water.

Pulpy Fruits

Eat lots of fruits like apples, pears, orange, pineapple, papaya and grapes. This will maintain the body’s metabolism rate and will soften your bowel system. When constipation is checked the symptoms of anal fissure can be restricted.

Fibre Supplements

Fibre supplements like Citrucel and Metamucil are good options to seek for. You can start by intaking a limited dosage and slowly increasing the amount after few days. This can improve the condition considerably.

Schedule Bowel Movement Time

It is best to schedule a specific routine for your bowel movements. If you regularize this time, your difficulty will automatically ease up and the bowel movement will be much easier and less painful. Take time in the toilet and do not strain too much to hurry.

Exercise Regularly

Try to keep your body fit by doing regular exercise. You can go for brisk walks every day, or hit the gym. Choosing some sports activity like tennis, swimming or squash can also keep you physically fit and active.

Use Laxatives

Laxatives or stool softeners are easily available in drugstores. You can use them to make the bowel movement more easy and comfortable. This should be done under medical advice. Some of the laxatives are available in ointment and cream option.

Other methods are sitting on a hot tub of water for 15-20 minutes. If the condition worsens you should consult a medical practitioner.
