Coriander is used in problems like upset stomach, bowel spasm, hernia, intestinal gas , loss of appetite etc. in some places coriander is also used in bacterial and fungal infections. It is also said the coriander leaves were used by Hippocrates, and other Greek physicians for medical reasons. These seeds are used in Indian, Chinese and European medicine to treat digestive problems. The aromatic oil of coriander contains linalool and other terpinoids which act as a digestive stimulant. Coriander also contains antioxidants and anti inflammatory compounds hence is considered as a safe herb to use.

2. Carom Seeds

Carom is used as a medicinal plant in traditional ayurvedic medicine and also for culinary purpose [2] . Carom seeds are also called ajwaine. They are useful in stomach disorders and flatulence. The seeds are also useful for its, antispasmodic and carminative properties. The plant is mainly cultivated in the parts of iran and india. They are bitter to take and look similar to anise . Cumin is the dried seed of the herb Cuminum cyminum which belongs to the parsley family [3] . Cumin has been used since ancient times for medical purpose. It originates from south east Asia. The most important quality of cumin is its ability to aid digestion. The seeds contain an aromatic organic compound called Cuminaldehyde which helps to stimulate the salivary glands and in turn helps in primary digestion. The other important component present in cumin is thymol, which helps to stimulate glands to secrete acids, bile and enzymes in the intestine and stomach.
