Time tested and one of the best DIY remedy available for Vitiligo, Psoralea seeds are required to be soaked in ginger juice for three days. After 3 days, you will notice that the skin on the seeds have become perforated. Rub the seeds with your hands and remove the skin. Allow the seeds to dry but keep it away from sunlight. Just dry them in shade. Thereafter, ground the seeds into fine powder and store in an air-tight container. Take a gram of this powder with milk everyday regularly for 40 days. You may also apply powdered seeds on affected area to replicate the effect of sun-tanning on skin. This way you will also be able to camouflage the white patches and get quicker results.[1]

2. Basil And Lime Juice Concoction

The concoction formed with lemon juice and basil extract is another proven remedy for vitiligo. While lemon juice improves overall skin’s health and improve cell regeneration, Basil is known for stimulating melanin production. The combination of two when applied regularly, is known to disappear the patches from the skin. Just mix and few drops of lemon juice with basil extract and apply 3 – 4 times a day on affected areas. Repeat daily for 3 – 6 months to see complete results.[2]

3. Margosa Leaves Drink

Clean freshly plucked Margosa/Neem leaves with water and blend in a blender, Strain to extract the juice. Mix 2 parts of this juice with one part of organic honey. You can have it 2-3 times a day. Margosa leaves will act a a blood purifier and hence support removal of free radicals from body. Continuous use of this remedy will re-pigment your skin and relieve your skin condition.[3]

4. Red Clay Topical Application

High content of copper makes this method appropriate for vitiligo. Copper has the ability to remove free radicals which actually destroy melanocytes (melanin producing cells). Additionally, copper enhances melanin production. Red clay being rich in copper can be used topically in form of paste that can be prepared by mixing a tablespoon of ginger with two tablespoons of red clay. Eating copper rich foods such as tomatoes, Nuts etc will enhance results further.[4]

5. Radish Seeds Paste

Paste made with radish seeds and vinegar is considered to be highly beneficial for Vitiligo relief. You require 35 grams of radish seeds and 2-3 tsp of vinegar. Ground the radish seeds into fine powder and mix with vinegar to form a paste. Apply on white patches. Allow it to dry. Wash off with cool water. Use it regularly for a few months to get best results.[5]
