Saw Palmetto

If the cause of frequent urination is an enlargement of prostate bladder then this herb is the thing for you. It has anti inflammatory properties which help to reduce the activity of the enzymes which cause urination. However, pregnant women or nursing women should not take this herb. According to recent research saw palmetto has proved effective in the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia.

Pumpkin Seed Extract

Pumpkin seeds have high levels of fatty acids and these fatty acids make the prostate bladder stronger. Eating some pumpkin seeds with water will act as one of the herbal remedies for frequent urination. You need to peel the seeds before eating them. Do not roast or treat the seeds in any other way as that may destroy their medicinal properties.

Corn Silk

If the frequency in urination is caused due to cystitis or any other infection in the bladder then corn silk is an excellent remedy. It has strong anti bacterial and anti septic properties which help in soothing an infected bladder and provides relief to the person suffering from frequent urination. Corn silk is not just effective as one of the herbal remedies for frequent urination but is used in treating many other ailments including bed wetting.

Uva Ursi

This is a diuretic and anti septic herb which is mainly used for treating urinary infections which cause excessive urination. It can be consumed in form of capsules or dried leaves. Drinking the herbal tea made of this herb also reduces the frequency of urination. However, pregnant women should avoid this herb although it effective as one of the herbal remedies for frequent urination.

Cranberry

Cranberry is one of the most important remedies for frequent urination. It is especially useful if the cause of frequent urination is a urinary tract infection because it has strong anti bacterial properties.

Cranberry can be consumed in the form of juices which are readily available in the market or it can be bought in the capsule form. In the absence of both, you can eat the fruit straight. It reduces the growth of bacteria causing infection in the bladder.

Buchu

This herb is an excellent coolant and hence soothes an irritated bladder. It is also anti septic and anti inflammatory in nature and is useful for treating urinary tract infections and thus reduces urination. You can make tea of buchu everyday and drink it in order to get for best results.
