Share

Bronchial asthma is a lung disease that affects the respiratory system. It occurs when an obstructive ventilation disturbance in the airways results in shortness of breath. When this happens, a severe asthma attack will form.

Although it is similar to regular asthma, bronchial asthma has a few more severe symptoms. When a bronchial asthma attack forms you will get the usual symptoms, such as wheezing, shortness of breath and chest pressure. Along with these symptoms you will experience severe narrowing of the airways. There will also be a build up of mucus in the airways which can cause even more difficulty breathing. The severity of bronchial asthma can change in a matter of seconds and can lead to serious health problems.

Bronchial asthma has many causes and triggers. Allergies is a common cause of bronchial asthma. If a person has bronchial asthma, as well as allergies, they need to make sure they get their allergies under control. If they get allergy symptoms it will trigger an asthma attack and can become very dangerous. Taking an antihistamine can help the allergies get under control. You should speak with your doctor about what type of allergy treatment will help reduce your bronchial asthma symptoms. Exercise, as well as exposure to dust mites and tobacco smoke can also bring on bronchial asthma symptoms.

Bronchial asthma is a chronic disease that has no known cure. However, there are many things you can do to help reduce the bronchial asthma symptoms. Taking a long-term medication, such as an anti-inflammatory, could help decrease the symptoms. You will also have to be under medical supervision while on the medication because some can have reverse effects. Also, having an emergency inhaler can help when you feel an attack forming.

Since bronchial asthma can lead to serious health problems it is important to keep the symptoms to a minimum. Avoiding the triggers and having some form of treatment is the best way to do so. Speak with your doctor about your options and choose the best one for you. Bronchial asthma is a chronic and serious condition so don’t ignore the signs. Be sure to take action today.
