5 Effective Natural Cures For Body Odor

Share

There are many people who believe that body odor is a consequence of excessive sweating but this is not true because body odor has nothing to do with sweat. It would be hard to believe that sweat is odorless and it is actually the bacteria present on the skin surface that creates body odor when a person perspires. There are two types of sweat glands in the body; namely eccrine and apocrine glands.

The eccrine glands secrete salts and water while the apocrine glands are the ones that are found in areas that have hair follicles such as the groin, the armpit and the scalp. Proteins and fats are secreted by these glands that break down forming bacteria that causes body odor. There are numerous natural cures for body odor that can be used by people who feel embarrassed and frustrated because of the body odor problem that they face. The well known remedies can be summed up as under:

Natural Cures For Body Odor

Take Two Showers Regularly

For people who have intense body odor, it is recommended that they should take bath at least three times within a day. People who live in places that are quite humid and warm should ensure that they take bath more than thrice a day because this would help them in washing away the sweat that remain in the armpits, the groin, the feet and the chest which would automatically help in preventing the interaction of the bacteria with these areas helping in reduction of body odor.

Change Your Foods

This is another very important cure among all the natural cures for body odor. There are certain foods that result in excessive perspiration by an individual which leads to an increase in the body odor.

Therefore people should avoid foods like spices, red meat, alcohol and caffeinated drinks as they are found to aggravate the rate of perspiration produced in an individual. Instead of such aromatic natural foods people must try out more of vegetables and fruits in their diet because such foods have the ability to inhibit bacteria and reduce body odor.

Use Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural deodorant that can be rubbed on the armpits after taking a bath because it helps in keeping the underarms dry and resisting any kind of sweat.

Wear Clean Clothes

People who suffer from the problem of body odor should always ensure that they wear clothes that are not only comfortable but also clean because such clothes help in reducing unbearable body odor to a large extent. Tight clothes restrict the natural process of blood flow that results in perspiration and body odor and at the same time they also harbor bacteria all throughout the body which further aggravates the problem of body odor.

Loose clothes should always be chosen because they help the body in breathing freely and also help in the immediate drying out of sweat that might cause body odor.

Use Herbal Oils

Herbal extracts or oils like alum, rose water and mint leaves can be used while taking bath because they freshen up the mind, the senses and the body and at the same time they also help in controlling the unpleasant odor of the body. These oils are therefore considered to work remarkably well as natural cures for body odor.
