Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils. Tonsils are the masses of the lymphatic tissues on the either side of the human throat at the back. Tonsils are usually caused by the bacterial and viral infection. Bacteria and viruses keep on entering the human body under normal circumstances through nose and mouth.

These are then filtered by the tonsils. These foreign elements that entered the human body are trapped in the lymphatic fluid.

And when it becomes excessive, these dead cells are hardened and deposited in the tonsils and this stage is known as tonsillitis. There are two major types of tonsillitis i.e. Chronic and acute. Acute tonsils can be viral or bacterial in origin and chronic tonsils are caused by bacterial infections and if not cured in time can last for long periods. Here are a few symptoms of tonsillitis. Nausea, Coughing

In many cases there are not obvious symptoms, as sometimes these tonsils might not interfere in the daily life of the affected person. And due to this reason they might get unnoticed for long periods of time. However, in some situations symptoms, like, nausea, sore throat, headache, chills, pain in the ears and neck, coughing, headaches, coughing, vomiting, voice changes and bad breath can be seen.

Bad Breath

The abundance of some substances is the main reason of bad breath. Sulfur compound is one of the main compounds responsible for bad breath in the patients. Many medical researches show people who suffer from such medical condition have high levels of sulfur compound. Thus, the association between tonsils and bad breath is established.

Sore Throat

This is one of the most common symptoms in case of tonsillitis and throat infection is mainly associated with a sore throat.
