Know About The Symptoms Of Stroke

Stroke is one among the three major causes for death; the other two being heart diseases and cancer. Stroke arises when the blood supply to the brain is not proper. Though the stroke is an ailment that is related to the brain it hampers the entire system. The intensity of the stroke may vary; it can range from a very mild attack to a severe attack.

The common causes for a stroke are obesity, chronic heart diseases, issues with the functioning of the kidney, hypertension, sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, high cholesterol, using contraceptives for a very long time, smoking and hereditary.

A stroke can completely paralyze the entire system; hence proper attention needs to be given when any or all of these symptoms are being faced.

Common Symptoms Of Stroke

Sensation

This is the first and foremost thing that would get affected when a person suffers even from a mild stroke. It is mostly the sense of touch that is first affected and so a person needs to be extra careful. Say for instance a person might not be able to feel the heat, in such cases they have to be extremely careful so as to not burn their hands.

Movement

The other major symptom one can notice in a person who is suffering from stroke is no proper movement. This means their normal days to day movements can be paralyzed to a great extent.

 

For example a person might not be even able to feed them self properly as the coordination between the hand and mouth might not function properly.

Paralysis

This is the most common symptom that can be noticed in a person who suffers from stroke. If the stroke is not very severe the paralysis would also be mild and would be more like aweakness. In cases where the stroke is severe the side that is opposite to the brain that is attacked would just not function.

Emotional Disturbance

There would be a drastic decline in the emotional stability of the person who is suffering from stroke. One can witness such patients laugh or cry for no reason or at inappropriate situations.

This particular symptom would be very difficult not only for the person who is suffering but also for the people who are taking care of the people who suffer from a stroke. This phase can lead to pother issues like aggression and depression.

Communication Disorders

A person who has a lesion in the brain would definitely have problems in relation to communication. When the brain muscles become paralyzed though the language is not forgotten the speech will be slurring in such a way that it would be impossible to comprehend by the person who is listening to it.

As soon as one begins to notice any of these symptoms it is imperative to consult a doctor immediately to avoided further complications, In some cases strokes can be cured through medicines whereas in some case it might need a surgery. Whether mild stroke or a sever stroke taking immediate treatment is very crucial.
