Gout is also known as Podagra (usually when a large toe is involved). It is a medical condition, which is characterized by the recurring attacks of inflammatory arthritis. Clinical diagnosis can be confirmed only after checking the crystals in the joint fluid. Gout has become more common these days.

It was previously popular as the rich man’s or the king’s disease. Though there are a lot of medications, a natural remedy is better to cure gout. This article revolves around six things that you can do if you have gout.

Natural Cures For Gout

Fruits

Opt for the fruits, like pineapples and cherries as these can reduce gout and give you comfort from the pain considerably. Some like the cherries in frozen form. So, it is to be noted that frozen cherries can also be eaten. If you don’t get fresh pineapples, you can have canned pineapples and pineapple juice. These will help you fight against the pain and reduce inflammation.

The berries, which contain a significant amount of the vitamin C and the necessary minerals can be consumed to provide relief from gout. In addition, you can also take strawberries as these have the ability to reduce the pain of gout.

Always Stay Hydrated

Many of you are not aware of this simple and important fact. Water helps you ease gout and protects the person from the symptoms of  gout. Crystallization and accumulation of uric acid surrounding the joints is the reason behind gout. Staying hydrated greatly reduces gout and reduces the chance of it occurring in future, too.

So, it is very important to keep drinking plenty of water. Here’s a small tip. One can use water as a substitute of half the regular liquid intake instead of alcohol (especially) and sodas or even juices. It is suggested to follow the 8×8 rule which states to drink water, 8 ounces, eight times every day.

Grapes

Grapes have a high amount of an alkaline substance that helps you lower the effect of the uric acid. Moreover, if you consume grapes regularly, the uric acid will get lesser chance to build up.

Eat Nuts And Grains

There are certainly few foods that can help you neutralize the levels of uric acid in the blood. Particularly,  grains, seeds and nuts can neutralize the effect of the uric acid. So, you must consume wholegrain foods, nuts of various types and seeds every day.

Try Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy can be done as it is a useful relief for gout remedy. The therapy particularly helps in easing the pain. The process is to run cold water on the affected area or soak the affected area in cold water for sometime to reduce the burning sensation and pain, too.

The Devil’s Claw

This Devil’s Claw is an anti-inflammatory herb, which can help you get relief from the pain. This herb was first used by the colonists to get rid of arthritis as the large roots of the plants could reduce pain and fever. However, the patients who take medicines to thin the blood or are diabetic should not opt for this herb.
