Heat Therapy
One of the oldest and the best therapies, heat therapies can help a lot in treating knee injuries. Simply prepare a hot water bag and place it on the injured knee for about 20 minutes. This will alleviate the pain to a great extent.
You should do this after every five hours for best results. You can also wash your knee five times daily with hot water as this also cures the pain. Opting for a regular hot water bath also helps a lot.
Ice Therapy
Wrap in a few pieces of ice in a thin piece of cloth and place it on the injured knee for at least 20 to 25 minutes. If you don’t have ice cubes then go for frozen vegetables. The coldness helps in relieving the pain of the injury and also treats all kinds of inflammation or swelling.
Coconut Oil
Heat half a cup of coconut oil and do it until lukewarm. Apply it thrice daily on the knee injury to get rid of swelling and pain. Massage the area with gentle strokes as it will help in improving blood circulation as well.
Milk And Turmeric
This is a traditional Indian remedy that has prevailed since grandma’s age and is popularly referred to as “haldi doodh”. For this, you need to mix 1 tsp of turmeric powder in one glass of hot milk and drink it regularly. This works wonders in speeding up the recovery process of any kind of injury.
Mustard Oil And Garlic
Heat a cup of mustard oil along with a few cloves of garlic until it is lukewarm. Massage the injured knee with this oil every day at least three times and see the pain and inflammation vanish completely in a week or two.
Fenugreek Seeds
Finely crush a cup of roasted fenugreek seeds to form a powder. Add water to it so that it forms a thick paste. Apply this paste on the injured knee twice daily for better consequences.
Bathu Leaves
Crush some leaves of bathu or fat hen. Now extract its juice by pressing it in a sieve. Now, drink one glass of this juice daily on an empty stomach to get rid of all kinds of injuries.
