Here Are Some Home Remedies That Effectively Reduce These Scars To A Great Extent
1. Sugar Scrub
In a glass bowl, take 2 tablespoons of sugar and the juice of half a lemon. Mix well and apply all over the face. Rub with soft circular motion, concentrating on the areas with scars. Continue for 3 mins and wash it off. Repeat every alternate day.[1]
2. Honey And Cinnamon
Honey is a great antiseptic and combined with cinnamon is an effective for acne scars. Make a paste of 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply it on face and leave for 5 minutes. Rub gently all over the face for 2 minutes and wash it off.[2]
3. Rice Powder And Yoghurt
Take 2 tablespoons of coarse rice powder. Alternately you can soak some rice in water for 20 minutes and grind it coarsely in a mixer. Add 3 tablespoons of cold yoghurt and 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. Apply all over face and neck, wait for five minutes, rub softly and wash it off.[3]
4. Wheat Bran And Gram Flour
Wheat bran is excellent for removing undulations in facial skin. Take half a cup of wheat bran, one-fourth cup of gram flour and a table spoon of turmeric powder. Mix the three and store in a container. Add 1 table spoon of fresh cream to 1 tablespoon of this mixture and rub gently all over the face. Fresh cream can be substituted with cold milk or rose water.
5. Retin A Cream
Retin A cream, which is a vitamin A derivative is very effective in reducing acne scars and acne. These are available in 2.5% and 5% strengths. Apply a thin layer every alternate night and wash it off in the morning.It is better to start with 2.5 % strength. Remember to apply sunscreen , when going out in the sun.
