5 Natural Cures For Cuts
Turmeric
It is an ancient herbal remedy which acts as an antispetic and also helps the wound in healing faster. It is better to use raw and unprocessed root for using on cuts. Rub it on a rough stone with some water to obtain the paste, or you can simply grind a little to get powder. Mix a little mustard oil in it so that the consistency remains that of a paste.
Apply a thin layer on the cut. This mixture will heal and keep the wound moisturized. You may experience a little sting in the beginning but that will subside in a few seconds. Consuming a glass of warm milk mixed with a spoon of turmeric may also help as it will work internally.
Neem
Neem is a great anti-microbial plant and can help in keeping the infections at bay. Firstly boil a bunch of neem leaves in water and use this water to wash the cut. Dry the cut thoroughly after the wash. Take 5-6 neem leaves and grind them with a spoon of water. This will lend it a flow of paste.
Apply this neem paste on the wound. You can also add a few drops of neem oil to keep the wound moisturized. Moistening the wound with oil ensures that there is less itching as the cut begins to heal.
Honey & Vinegar
Honey is nature’s own moisturizing agent that comes with anti-bacterial properties. For using on cuts, make sure that you have pure undiluted honey. You can simply apply it on the cut directly. It may bring in some burning sensation for a few minutes but will help in healing the wound without posing a risk of contracting infection.
To increase the potency of honey, you can add a few drops of apple cider vinegar in it as well. Vinegar is a great cleansing agent and it also kills infection at the root. In fact before dressing the wound, dilute vinegar in equal part of water and clean the cut with this solution for better results.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a mild and soothing herb. Its gel is odorless and quite bitter. However, do not be fooled by the physical properties of this herb, Aloe vera is a very effective antiseptic and moisturizing substance.
You can obtain the aloe vera gel from its tentacles. Just one cut through it and the gel oozes out. Apply this gel profusely on the cut. Apart from protecting from infection and moistening the wound, this gel will also soothe the pain caused by the injury.
