When most people hear the word diet, they picture a small plate with a few pieces of vegetables on the plate, while everyone else around them is devouring a huge meal consisting of meat, potatoes and the like. Eating healthy while on a diet does not have to be restrictive to the point of starvation. There are many foods that you can eat which are healthy for you and will help you lose weight.
Most of us do not think about the beverages we consume on a daily basis. Whether these are carbonated soft drinks, coffee, or even alcoholic drinks, they all contain different things the body does not need, like processed sugars, caffeine and calories. Even if you consume diet drinks, the artificial sweeteners used in the beverage puts a strain on the kidneys. In some cases some of these artificial sweeteners can take months for the kidneys to break down.
As part of eating healthy you need to also focus on giving up beverages. Rather you can drink as much green tea and water as you desire throughout the day. If you need to add a sweetener to the tea, uses a few drops of honey instead of refined sugars or artificial sweeteners. Honey contains many healthy properties and is good for the body.
