5 Home Remedies For Abrasions

Abrasions

Abrasions are superficial skin wounds in which the skin breaks and only the top layers of the skin are affected. Everyone has these wounds at some point or another during the course of life. The skin is soft and elastic but not tough enough to resist breaking and tearing when impacted with hard and rough surfaces. Thin skinned bony areas like the knees, elbows and ankles are more prone to abrasions than thickly padded areas.

Children are more liable to be affected because of their active involvement in outdoor games, running and scampering and participating in all kinds of sports. Though abrasions are not serious or health threatening, they can cause immense pain and soreness and can allow bacteria and other organisms to enter through the broken skin and cause infections. The fear of tetanus bacteria invading the body is more worrisome than any other fear.
