Papaya

Papayas are a fruit that can help relieve itching. You can get fresh papayas from the product section of your local grocery store or whole food store. You can eat the fruit itself and it will work from the inside of the body. Or you can juice fresh papayas and apply the juice directly to the affected areas of the skin. Use a cotton ball and lightly dab the juice on the skin. Allow it to air dry completely. You can even add the papaya juice to your favorite herbal tea. Or add three cups of the fresh juice to warm bath water and mix well. Soak in the bathtub for about thirty minutes and the juice will help relieve the itching.

Ginger

Ginger comes in many different forms. You can use fresh ginger, ground ginger or pure ginger oil extract to treat hives. Take about two cups of fresh ginger and slice it up and let it soak in a gallon of hot water. Take this mixture and add it to the bathtub and soak in it for about half an hour. You can use the pure ginger oil extract either in herbal teas or apply to the affected areas on the skin. If applying directly to the skin, use a cotton ball and dab it on. Let it air dry completely before rinsing off. Ground ginger can be used to make a paste. Use hot water and a little bit of cornstarch. Mix about a tablespoon of ground ginger with a ½ teaspoon of cornstarch and add a little bit of hot water. Mix well and continue adding a few drops of hot water until a nice paste is created. Apply the paste directly to the skin and let dry completely before washing off.
