The first and easiest way to treat foot fungus is with clippers and a file. This is very important in order to prevent fungus from growing in the dead skin on your feet and under the nail. This step is often overlooked but is the best way to not only eliminate existing problems but also prevent further issues.

Antiseptics

Antibecterial Soap

Most treatments are in the form of antiseptic liquids like antibacterial soap, rubbing alcohol, vinegar, salt water, and even Listerine. All of which have shown great results when used to treat foot fungus.

When using the vinegar, Listerine, and salt water, you need to soak your feet in the liquid for fifteen to twenty minutes to allow it to kill off the bacteria. The portions are not too important for these, with the vinegar (white vinegar) use three parts water to one part vinegar. The others don’t necessarily have to be diluted. Even bleach has been used undiluted.

The goal with the antiseptic is to suffocate the bacteria so it can no longer continue to grow. In order to cure your foot fungus you must use some form of antiseptic.

Other Important Suggestions

Baking Powder

Something to keep in mind is that unnatural fibers and moisture can create a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. It is important to keep your feet dry at all times, this can be done with baby powder or baking soda. Also if available try buying socks made from natural fibers like cotton, this will provide good air circulation. Change your socks frequently and keep them dry.
