Different Remedies To Cure Blepharitis
Chamomile Tea
Chamomile has been traditionally used for treating eyes. Boil chamomile and make its tea. Let it cool. Just inject 2-3 drops in each eye. Chamomile is anti-inflammatory in nature and can reduce the swelling and pain caused by this condition.Alternatively you can use used chamomile tea bags. Cool them in the refrigerator and place them on your eye lids for relief.
Warm Compress
Warm compress relieves the pain caused by Blepharitis. This condition creates flaky crusts on the lids, warm compress helps in breaking this crust. Take some mildly hot water. Soak two cotton pads or swabs in it. Squeeze adequately to drain out the excess water and check on the back of your palm if it feels comfortable. Now rest it on your lids. Do this for half an hour for clean and bright eyes.
Tea Tree oil
Tea tree is anti-bacterial is nature and great moisturiser. This condition is also caused by bacterial infection. Using tea tree oil will kill the bacteria and stop its growth thereby limiting the damage of Blepharitis.On the other hand, it also combats and removes the dryness from the eye lids by moisturising the eyes. Tea tree oil can be mixed with other moisturising oils like mineral or baby oil and olive oil as well.
Home Made Eye wash
Take some baby shampoo with no burn formula. Add it to warm water and swish. Now dip an ear bud in this solution and clean the corners of your eyes. Also run it along your eye lid as if applying kohl.You can add one part rosewater to one part cool water. Wash with this solution whenever you are washing your eyes. Soda bicarbonate is also a great cleansing agent. Add a tea spoon of soda to one glass of water.Wash your eyes with it for long term results. While washing ensure that you do not splash water in your eyes, it will only increase the redness and itching. Wash gently.
Honey
Honey is anti-bacterial in nature. And therefore very effective against the infections. In order to use it in your eyes or as eye drops, unprocessed pure honey is preferable. Refined honey loses most of its advantageous properties and may contain additives that may cause more harm than good.Honey is also used to moisture the skin and is a base for many commercial and home made moisturising lotions and creams. Take some honey on your finger tips and run it on your eye lids. It will cause burning sensation in the eye and make it water profusely. This process will clear your eyes of the dirt and any impurities in them.Wash off the honey with cool water. These home remedies can control the symptoms of Blepharitis very effectively and cease it to be a nuisance for you. You can continue them with over the counter medicines (If you are taking any) after consulting the doctor.
