Acne is a skin disorder resulting from the action of hormones on the skins sebaceous glands which leads to plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), and outbreaks of cysts or nodules commonly called pimples. They may occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. It is the most common and chronic skin disease. The acne affects most of the teenagers. However, the disease is not restricted to any age group; adults in there 20s - even into there 40s - can get acne.  Being not a life threatening health condition, acne is still upsetting and disfiguring as sometimes it leads to permanent and serious scarring.

Causes of Acne
  • All forms of acne have their origin in wrong feeding habits, such as irregular hours of eating, improper food, excess of starches, sugar and fatty foods.
  • Chronic constipation is another major cause of acne. For those pesky bumps that hurt and won't go away, try black ointment. You can find it at health food store. Also, clean with alchohol and apply anti-biotic cream.

Best Remedies for Acne
Alright guys, THIS WORKS!!
To start off this is what you will need-
1.)St.Ives Swiss Formula Apricot Scrub (blemish & blackhead control) or any apricot scrub.
2.) Any type of rubbing alcohol.
3.) OIL-FREE moisteriser. I use Neutrogena but any oil free moisteriser.
4.) Toothpaste. I use Mentadent Anticavity Fluoride Toothpaste, but any will do.
5.) a tube of Clearasil vanishing cream.

Wash your face with the Apricot scrub, making sure you REALLY scrub the affected area. Wash it off with warm/hot water and pat your face dry with a towel. Pop any white heads you have and then apply rubbing alcohol to the affected area. DO NOT apply to your whole face it will dry it out. Then after the rubbing alcohol drys apply toothpaste to ONLY your acne. Let it sit until it drys. wash it off, using the apricot scrub. After apply the clearasil to your acne and let it sit. LAST ! apply the Moisteriser to make sure your face doesnt dry out.

Do this twice a day ( morning and night) and you will see an improvement. My acne started clearing up the next day. You can find all the products at cvs or a pharmacy near you. It works much better than 250 dollar tubes of medicine that dont even work !
try it :-D

:-D:-D:-D
#15 - Really works ! - 12/23/2007 - 11:16
Hi,
Im 15,
Both of parents have or had acne during teenage years.
I wash my face with proavtice, eat about 3 different veggies and 5 different fruit.
I avoid fast food restaurants..It made me feel better in the inside but my skin was still ugly..
My aunt ((nutritionist))
told me to take 2-3 cubes of aloe (plant)
for morning and night.
(better tasting with lemon or orange))
It made my face softer and less red, but my scars are still there.
for a week and half or so I took aloe ((the slimie stuff))
and tea (take out powder on to a plate)
and mixed it together, and used a SOFT BRISTLE ELECTRICE TOOTH BRUSH and gently scrubbed my face in a circular motion for 2 and a half minute.
put the aloe and tea mix on you face first.
it hurts alittle, but DONT PRESS ON YOUR FACE use 30 spf sunscreen,

#19 - honey! - 01/04/2008 - 00:26
I use limes, salt, toothpaste, and acohol.
1. take the lime and put salt on it and rub your face with it. Its like removing dirt and dead cells.
2. Then take the acohol and apply it to your face to dry up the bumps.
3. then take the toothpaste and apply it, let it dry. Wash off with warm water You will feel the cool air . than you can apply a light moisterizer but something that is not oily.
4. Do it twice a day, you will see a differences .
And also makes blemishes less visable.. . . . .

I have had mild acne as a teenager and then in my early 20's I got the scarring acne. I've realized it's more than just a skin condition. After doing a whole body cleanse for a month with one of the herbal cleansing systems they sell at my local natural store, the acne completely went away. Now I just keep it up with periodic cleansing and I take a probiotic daily and it is gone. No more scars!
#21 - Victoria - 01/14/2008 - 20:24
This is the best thing to do, trust me.
I'm 15 and had acne since i was 12, but about 7 months ago i started putting things on my face that i thought would work to remove acne (most of it didn't), then i got clear fingernail polish and rubbed it on all of my pimples.i did that for about a week and it did a great job, it dries out your pimples but not your skin. Then i took it a couple steps further, i shut my sink, boiled about 2 gallons of water then poured into sink and stand over the sinkwith a towell over your head. The steam opens your pores. So after that you get alcahol, apply to a cottonball, then apply to your face...
it might seem like alot to do
but this works way better than ne medicine and its practically free except for the alcahol and cotton balls

I have bad acne I hate being teased at skool too!! I pile the make-up on but it gets worse!

WHAT DO I DO!!!
#23 - Hilary - 01/23/2008 - 18:38
Consult your physician before trying anything, but Vitamin A- 24,000 I U's daily for around a month then decrease...vitamin E , Grapeseed Extract, B Complex, Chromium Piconilate, are good vitamins to take regularly. Also, try washing with Anti-Bacterial Handsoap once a day and be sure to avoid processed and fast foods as well as sodas...drink lots of water to flush your system daily and also...especially girls, wear long hair up and wash your pillow cases weekly.....a good clay mask used as directed couldnt hurt either...i use mine after a hot shower because your pores are open and it draws the bad stuff....for boil or cystic like acne, try those items as well as black draw out salve on the blemish...be careful to not get it on clothing or linens as it can stain...
#24 - bella33 - 01/26/2008 - 01:59

Non coated Aspirin in just enough water to desolve, rub gently in circles all over face leave on 20 minutes, put warm water in hands rub gently again then rinse, pat dry rinse again with cold water, I tried except I added 1 egg white to the Aspirin mix and did same and it left my skin soft and clear

I have had acne since i was in 4th grade. I find that washing your face with Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub in the morning and Biore pore unclogging scrub at night helps a lot. Before I go to sleep I also put on Avon Solution True Pore-Fection skin refining toner and Avon Solution True Pore-Fection Oil Free Skin Clearing Lotion after the toner dries. I find that with these combination my skin has started to get better and become softer. I purchased the Biore and Aveeno in Shop-Rite and Avon toner and lotion online.

Im only 10 and have had pretty bad acne since third grade. Ive tried heaps of things but the only thing that really worked was olive oil. You put it on 3 times a day and you should see an improvement within a week. It worked for me and it should for you. Also for acne scars, use tea tree oil 2 times a day and there should be a big improvement. Hope this comment was helpful!!!:-)

Try eliminating your dairy products for clear skin! (Milk, cheese, ice cream, butter--all of it!) for at least 3 weeks, I know it seems like a long time, but if you have had dairy all your life it takes awhile to clean it out of your system. Add healthy fats to your diet like raw nuts and seeds and avocados.
#42 - Jane - 03/15/2008 - 23:10

#47 - priyanka - 04/04/2008 - 07:41
hey guys...I'm 15 and suffer from acne;
I strongly recommend toothpaste, but only on the pimples.[very drying]
I feel your pain. I am on differin 0.3% [topical] and orally take tetracycline[antibiotic] with little relief. The best thing that's worked for me is toothpaste. I also have less zits when I'm not stressed.

girls: period time is almost an guarantee for a break-out for many of us. Acne gets worse then due to fluctuating hormones. Sometimes birth control helps, but it's also been known to make acne worse.[individual results vary]

hope this was helpful. Just remember that many people don't notice our acne as much as we think they do and to keep your head up when becoming discouraged with failing treatments.

1)find a cleanser works for you (make sure its NOT for acne treatment)

2) And the what every percent of benzoyl peroxide(2.5 % 5% 10%)

3) Last of all a moisterizer (OIL-FREE!!!!) and that wont clogg up your pores.

use it in the order given for step 2 only apply to effected areas or the ones that "look" effected. Mornig an Night. itll take usually about a week but u have to use it everyday to keep ur skin lookin good. (COMPLICATED BUT IT WORKS):-D

Hey, I'm 16. And well, like most adolescence, I have acnes... not just on my face but also on my back. Sucks right? Anyway.. now I only have acne scars n they're almost gone... The secret? - I apply honey with herbs (it smells bad, though) on my face and before going to bed and leave it overnight. I didn't do it on my back though. I only got it during summer. And anyway.. how can I sleep with both my face AND back have honey paste on it. So anyway, it really works on me. A doctor said to me you can also use honey with cinnamon and another said drink yogurt with honey and onion in it. It helps to detoxify your body. Drink for a month and it may help.
Anyway, best of luck for others out there. Don't let your acne ruin your day

I'm 19 and have has acne since I was 11. The things that I have found that work best (for me, maybe you too) is washing my face with a anti-bacterial, oil-free face wash that has acne fighting products, twice daily. About every 3-4 days, exfoliate using either a wash cloth or a wash that has micro-beads. when you're exfoliating, don't SCRUB, lightly massage the cleanser into your face. (Scrubing will break the skin, which leads to scarring.) If you MUST pop a zit, (and I'm a popper, so I understand it can be habit) wash your hands SUPER well before you pop it, use a kleenex on the two fingers you're using to pop the zit. This prevents any dirt from going inside your freshly popped zit. After you've popped your zit, wash your hands again
