However, in some cases the beauty of the eyes gets distorted with dark circles that form around them. Of course, except for the cosmetic aspect, this dark circle is not a serious ailment. Everyone does anything possible to get rid of these dark circles, and there are many simple remedies.

What causes dark circles around the eyes?

There are many reasons why dark circles are formed around the eyes. Some of the prominent reasons could be allergies caused by mold, dust or food, hay fever, Eczema, pale skin (which makes the skin look dark), aging, lack of sleep, depression or stress, nasal problems, rubbing the eyes frequently, hereditary, or a deficiency in an enzyme called as phenol sulfotransferase which is also hereditary. Pistachio Nuts as a Home Remedy for Dark Circles

Pistachio NutsProperties: The pistachio plant is largely grown in Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, and Turkey and in some of the Arabian countries. The nuts are enclosed in a shell which is not hard to break. The nut has a strong smell of turpentine. The nuts are normally used in many culinary items like sweets, cheese, ice creams etc. The medicinal properties of these nuts include reducing LDL, increases antioxidants, increases HDL etc. It contains many important vitamins and minerals.

How to treat dark circles using pistachio nuts:
Take about two or three nuts, crush them, then add some milk and crush them again to make paste. Apply this paste on the dark circles and after about half an hour wash the face with warm water. This medicine should be applied for at least one or two months depending on the intensity of the dark circles.

Potato Nuts as a Home Remedy for Dark Circles:

Allow the tea bag to cool. Now keep the bags on the affected part and after about half an hour wash the face well with warm water. Ensure that the bag retains little moisture so that the tea does not drip into the eye. How to treat dark circles using cranberry juice:
Take about three or four fully ripe cranberries and make about one glass of juice. If you prefer, add some honey to the juice. Drink this juice at least twice a day. You can increase the quantity depending on the intensity of the dark circles. Cranberry juice is available off the shelf, but ensure that no preservatives are added before buying.

Other Natural remedies for Dark Circles

Almond creams are very helpful in reducing dark circles. Apply the cream on the dark circles and after about thirty minutes wash the face thoroughly.

Take vitamin ā€˜Eā€™ capsules. Make a small hole in the capsule and collect the liquid on the finger tip. Apply this medicine on the affected part.

Take one tablespoon of tomato juice and add about three or four drops of fresh lemon juice. Now add one or two pinches of turmeric. Mix them well with enough white powder. Apply this on the affected part and, after about half an hour, wash the face thoroughly with warm water.

Cold water constricts the blood vessel. It also reduces the puffiness of the vessel. Therefore, as a general rule, while washing your face after the remedies suggested here, use cold water.

Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Remember water removes all impurities in the body.

Do not overexpose your skin to sunlight. Use quality gels to protect the skin.

Rose water has the properties of cooling and removing dark pigmentation. Take rose water in cotton and wipe it thoroughly on the affected part.

Take about one teaspoon of turmeric powder and add some pineapple juice to make it a paste. Apply this to the affected part and after about half an hour wash your face thoroughly with warm water.

Pour water into a spoon and keep the spoon in the freezer. Ensure that the water does not spill in the freezer. After the water in the spoon freezes, take the spoon out and gently rub the spoon on the dark circles until the ice in the spoon melts.

One of the reasons for dark circles is inadequate sleep, so sleep well. Those who are suffering from depression are advised to go through a course on meditation or yoga.

Stop smoking because it is another reason for dark circles.

Sometimes, dark circles may be caused because of inflammation of veins like hemorrhoids etc. In such cases, medical attention is required.

Take green tea because it has lot of antioxidants which are very much helpful in removing toxic materials from the veins.
